4k players is HUGE number. You're obsessed with steamcharts. You're not even using data they provide as you should (almost every game experiences a large population burst at first).
The number of players has never been an issue in any game that I play privately with friends. Personally, I haven't had any issues with repetitiveness considering I haven't seen any real repetitiveness in the game. At least none that is noticeable to me. The replayability has also not been something I have seen as an issue considering we haven't even finished the game. I have played a little in my own time on a single player world and I find the replaying to not be an issue.
The most gripes I've seen about the game have been the expensiveness of some of the recipes. Which I agree, some should be tweaked to be less expensive.
