Castle territory
I was wondering why the devs reduced the size of a castle territory, if I recall, we used to be allowed to build almost anywhere. Why was that taken away?
I am just curious to be honest, because if you go to a territory between bandit king and fish boss is, just a bit more towards to bandit king, there a territory with BIG steps, that got me excited 🤩🙂 thinking I can build a massive castle with a great garden, but then shattered when notice you cannot build on this environment. 😫😞

Ah... So that the reason? Yes?
It would be lovely if can be private server, solo, co-op like family and trusted friends.
but Multiplayer then No.
That is my opinion.

This was changed when they released Gloomrot. And yet it was because of what Venthus stated.

OR
Maybe give a player an option to enable territory free at our own risks?

While you can sadly as mentioned not remove the territory restriction you can increase the number of floor height to 10 as well as set a much higher tile limit and castle limit. That is if your system is able to run it. And of course multiplayer will be much more demanding.

To do this:
Load the game of the save of your choosing then select in the menu open directory. Next close the game and make a copy of ServerGameSettings for safey then edit the original and find
"CastleStatModifiers_Global": {
Just below that edit line
"FloorLimit":
for all 5 levels depending on what you want it to be. (just be sure to have it increase per level never decrease.)

After that edit line
"HeightLimit":
(Important max is 10 height do not enter more then that.)

Lastly find
"CastleLimit":"
And edit this to a higher number.
Save the file and load your game.

Make sure to test the settings on a clean save before porting it to your main. In case your system is not capable of running it and your save gets corrupted it can save you a lot of headache.

This will again not allow you to build outside assigned territory but with some creativity allow you to link up several castles that are close by while still having enough castles on other sides of the map.

For example you could look for a plot with three or four territories next to each other and simply sacrifice one to build a massive garden. Or create towering castles and have gardens inside the main structure by dedicating the ground floor to it and simply moving up facilities to a higher floor.

Here is something I am currently working on private host.
This is only about 1100 tiles used so 300 above the normal maximum.
But the increase in height gives the illusion of a much grander size.
