but private server with good community and staff who will hammerban griefer, are really cool
Sadly I dont do the community servers, those 2 week wipe cycles are too fast for me. I am old, and I like my 3 month long servers-plus many community servers make those bosses so strong that I cant do them, And they show what boss you killed, making you a target for attackers.
But yeah, if a server is policed, I guess you could avoid much of the issues I outlined.
I would have 2 suggestions to fix both issues.
Inventory can not be dumped while a base is on raid timer. From storage or a player. It can only transfer, so if a person wants to drop loot you, they would have to leave the base, drop it, come back in, which would take a ton of time.
And if a player kills a player that is say 25 levels lower, they get a debuff, though I could see skilled players dropping gear score to troll. So the PVP part I dont have a fix for,
But drop loot raiding is 110% easy to fix. Loot can only go inventory to inventory while a base in breach timer. Just sold a massive grief issue. But Stunlock Studio doesnt seem to care to address that issue at all. So if they are not addressing it, it means it is not a problem to them.
In V Rising's case, there's two very specific reasons it's PVP is dead: A failure to roll out content and balance changes for PVPers at release and designing the game around gear level.
There's nothing stopping the first players to join a server from blocking the rest of the server from leveling up. Sure, this is somewhat true of other games: Rust, DayZ, Conan Exiles, Minecraft, etc. but in their cases progression resources are plentiful and enough skill/finesse or a large enough alliance can throw the alpha clan off balance. Thats not a possibility in V Rising.
Your claim with 2 week resets is only half right, not every server does that, I usually play on ones with 4-8 week cycles, probably closer to 8 now with the new patch. With 1.1 coming out soon, private and -moderated- servers will be exploding with activity. They will literally solve every single problem you have with official servers and then some. This is the last big patch afaik, so this is your last chance to enjoy the game in a way you like, don't waste it getting mad about socially inept people doing psychopathic things.
I suggest anyone to reconsider playing on an official server but it's your choice to make, good luck.
I have been practicing on 4/142025 Quick Start PVP(powered by QUESO to get back into the game(only because its wiping for 1.1 soon)
Server is a duo server, 2x rates, bosses harder. Been there for 3 days, never once seen a mod, seen racism in chat, seen the kill feed show level 91s farming lower levels and them leaving.
This is NOT just an official server issue, but a PVP issue itself. I get it it, the game is PVP, and there are only so many targets. But not everybody is as old and stubborn(and maybe a bit of a sadist? lol) to play through the hell that is involved.
I dont expect anything to change, I just figured I would give my 2 cents, since I play alot see alot but rarely say anything.
Go back to Ark
So your point is completely irrelevant, got it. The end.
These types are the COWARDS that only can harass those underleveled otherwise they dont stand a chance.
If you getting hit constantly by the same individuals rather than many different people... I gotta ask how many opps you have irl.
