I feel for you and people like you because you are actually losing your creations. It matters little to someone like me, as I create new saves in games like this almost everytime I launch the game nowadays.
You guys also paid money for this game, so it truly sucks that you can't keep your progress AND get the new content. And I promise that what I'm about to say is not to spite you, but simply me stating my own truth:
I will have a blast with this new update on April 28, and I will probably start 10 new games in a week before I stick to one playthrough. I will enjoy it fully and thoroughly because I can, but that doesn't mean I don't have sympathy for you guys who can't. Even though you obviously don't have as much use of my sympathy as you would have of Stunlock making future content backwards compatible.
THEY announced this months ago and YOU always need a fresh start that has been the same way the last two patches. Good lord.
LMAOOOOO man my friends and I are so excited.. I have literally 2 servers lined up ready to go.. the resets are what bring us back.. they never ever promised that we could keep saves not sure why you are shocked this time.. you should have seen this coming.
You talk like this isn't strange for a fully released game but it absolutely is.
I don't care that they announced it, having to start over to play major updates is something I would only expect from an early access title. It's an absurd thing to happen after a 1.0 launch.
They are deceitful and are wasting people's time on this earth when they could be doing or playing something else. Playing a game by developers that respect their progress, time and effort. Like many others, I was told that the 1.0 release will no longer have incompatible saves by their moderator. We were lied to. They owe the community an apology.
If someone was defecating once a year I would call an ambulance for this serious medical condition.
On a more Sirius note, you can role back your game version to keep your save compatible, so at worse it’s like the update never happened.
Additionally you can change your server settings to start whit bosses already defeated gear already equipped at specific levels and build costs reduced to free if you would like. You can start over at more or less where you were in terms of level, and rebuild your castle before changing the settings back to default if you would like.
if you want to then you can make starting over not take very long at all before getting to the new stuff.
Or again, just role back your game version and keep playing in the same world as if nothing happened.
You were not lied to the person you talked to made an educated guess and were mistaken.
That being said, I hope in the future that they implement some kind of blueprinting feature that will allow you to save castle builds just to make things less annoying to rebuild between resets.
The majority, PVE players stick around at all times and play. The minority PVP players just come back around and get excited when they get an announcement update. They leave after a few months, leaving the PVP servers dead and players asking in discussions about why they are dead.
Because the majority play PVE private solo. Or host their own dedicated servers. Even some with interesting mods and gameplay. I don't mod but just throwing that out there.
They essentially plan to add even more locations to the map. I mean, why just have one up in the upper left corner while leaving the rest bare? So with their developer software, they aren't able or won't make it backwards compatible as new areas and game mechanics are added. But refuse to warn, make an ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ announcement or apologize to the majority.
All while new players that haven't found out the hard way yet, are thinking their enjoying an epic game, only to find out later the hard way. Did they buy all the DLC's? And found out the game is incomplete and can no longer refund.
Check out the broadcast sometime and ask yourself how many players know their progress, time and effort will be for nothing.
There are some PVE players that don't mind the wipes or incompatible saves as they like starting fresh and getting updates.
The upcoming update is the third that they had planned for some time now.
Updates :
1.) Gloomrot
2.) ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ 1.0 Release
3.) Planned But Not Defined - Updated
