How worth playing PvE only
Is it mandatory to play Multiplayer pvp etc for it to be fun or it's okay to play solo/duo world for pve only ?

I can say I played it through twice on my own as a purely single player experience. There's a learning curve, and little story at the moment, but it is fun in a mechanical way, with some interesting builds possible. The castle building is purely aesthetic when doing Single Player at the moment, given once you have a floor and walls down nothing can spawn inside the castle, and none of the local fauna, flora, or people so much as glance your castle's way once it's up.

It ends in a lackluster way, at the moment, given the final boss is a purely mechanical experience, not a narrative one, in the current release(I think they said at one point more story might get added). That said, if you do like the mechanics, they're fun to play with, lots of small tweaks can be made to spells and abilities, as well as gear crafting to make the perfect vampire.

I only play PvE, as I have no interest in hoping that random people will behave well, play nice and not break my immersion.

But eh, the hardcore PvP folks will say yes it is mandatory to PvP to have fun, and the hardcore PvE players will say no you don't. But even as someone who avoids multiplayer a lot of the time, this is a really good game for PvE solo play or PvE co-op play.

Definitely worth it.
In co-op is imo even better!

Careful with wording since there is an actual hardcore pvp mode called merciless in which you lose everything, including what you're wearing, when you die. And funnily enough there is a more difficult version of PvE called brutal mode so in a sense there is casual PvP and PvE, and also hardcore PvP and PvE lol

As for OP, the PvE is fun but if you'd doing PvE only it will be a rather short experience unless you really enjoy castle building and making it look nice. I've seen some crazy good looking castles and setups before, even on PvP servers, and I can imagine that will take up a bulk of time.

Fair enough, I see your point about the level of difficulty for the two types.

I hope you don't mind me adding a bit to your second paragraph, my 200+ hours in V Rising is creating a lot of different solo games. So castle building isn't the only thing to do after "clearing" the game once. Sometimes it's fun to just roll a new character and do things randomly.
This game is incredible. One of the hidden gems that I don't understand how it's not more popular.

Never played PvP, only PvE, I played it 3 times and I would play it more, but am excited for the new update so I decided to wait until it drops so I can "no life" it again :D

The game is great and it's one of my favorites. It's the best in the genre when it comes to isometric / top-down games. I would take it beyond the Diablo games aside from a dungeon system. And I grew up loving all the Diablo's starting with one.

The game in its current state forces players to restart during major updates as they are adding to the map and adding and changing game mechanics. If you care to keep your progress, time and effort, then I would wait for the game to be completed. If not, that's cool. Carry on and enjoy your game.

I've always played solo since VR was first released. It's easy to adjust the settings to your preference. The only time I've enjoyed pvp in survival games has been on small servers with a few close friends.
I don't know how popular this opinion is, but... after 135 hours across two games (one co-op, one solo; haven't even beaten Dracula in either, btw) I can confidently say I have seldom seen a game less suited to be PvP. As in, I am frankly baffled that this was ever conceived with PvP in mind.

A 70+ hour campaign, with advanced base building, an ungodly amount of grinding for every upgrade, servants, weapon degradation, tough bosses... and other enemy players that can come over and ruin\steal\destroy your ♥♥♥♥ while you're not even playing? What? Why would you do that to yourself? Why do hate your own time that much?

No unlockables in PVP and no you don't have to PVP to get a "real" experience for the game. Unless you like having what you built, and procured stolen and nothing left to come back to when you log in.

I've never played multiplayer and have 303 hrs. Haven't been able to beat the final boss though. Don't know if that's related to coop or not.

I have over 700 hours in this game.. all of that is PVE I have never once done any PVP.. I have 2 groups of friends I play with and we come back and sink in a good 75+ hours each play-through when new content drops.. this is probably one of our favorite games to play. I even did a solo run as well. It's definitely worth the PVE experience.

I've also never beaten Dracula.. even with groups of friends.. I do not enjoy the fight at all.. he is WAYY harder than any other boss. I think I gave him a good 20 attempts and that's fine.. I still love the game.

Crafting from storage would make it a solid 10/10. Right now for me its a 9.5/10.

its playable PvE only you should know though that stunlock themselves care for PvP more than for PvE even to the point of removing or changing stuff that was former PvE like the shards that gave buffs which were very nice for PvE too and are PvP only amulets now or the mortium zone which is only there to promote the usage of the new shard system with the amulets.

I mean those shards/amulets are still good for PVE.. lol. The only stat that is primarily for PVP is the one that states +x damage to vampires.. they are still good in PVE. they are definitely NOT "PVP only amulets now"

Soul Shard of the Monster

Attributes:
+31.9 Spell Power
+15% Weapon Attack Speed
+15% Damage to Vampires - (ONLY PVP stat*)
20% chance on primary hit to trigger Chain Lightning.

Replaces your Ultimate Ability with - Eye of the Storm.

Also, the Mortium zone serves multiple PVE purposes.. you need the shards to unlock the passives traits at the Altar of Stygian awakening, there are two bosses in the zone to kill, resources to grind (Bleeding Heart, Stygian Shards) and also the shards are used to purchase the top end weapons from the vampire merchants in the zone.

There is still PLENTY to do in that zone for PVE.

LoL please calm down with all your ridiculously wrong information.

You can play single player easily, but you'll have to make adjustments to the server settings when you create your file in order to avoid running into all of the stuff they implemented to balance the game for multiplayer. The fact that there is no actual editor to change most of these values after the file is created is, you guessed it, a design feature that happened because they didn't want anybody to be able to screw around with a multiplayer server file, even if you're playing single player.

So, in summary, it's possible, and it can be fun, but you're going to have to make adjustments because the devs just threw the tools into a pile for the players to sort out while everything they focus on is for multiplayer first and all of the preset settings options reflect that.
