Your stuff will be put in a chest (travelbags) since it can´t rebuild your castle if the place has a different size. Just open the building-menu and you can place the stuff "for free".
You could also build a 2nd castle if available, which means more ports obviously.
Ok but I still need to know 2 things:
1) Will it put down the whole castle complete if there is enough room?
and
2) Do I need to completely clear the area of resources to make enough room?
If you got 10 Walls in your old base your relocate area will have 10 Walls to place for "Free".
Any crafting station / storage you have can also be placed for "Free" since you already have that in your old base.
But it wont place anything down FOR you. You do all the placing.
Yes you need to clear out the area.
Ok, my bad, one left (same color like structure already placed) i'm done XD
Also, the move is kind of buggy. I had three sawmills to move and could only place 2 before it said I had placed all of them but it wouldn't complete the castle, saying I was one short. I erased the two saw mills and then it let me replace all three and the castle moved.
And while it says that any unplaced things will be disassembled and placed in the traveler bag, some (if not all) of the production and workbench stuff has to be placed to complete the move.
If you run into problems, after verifying that you've placed everything down, you can disassemble and then assemble each station until you find the one that's bugging your move,
