Keep getting same book drops over and over!!

I keep getting merciless iron sword or merciless iron crossbow books over and over and over.
Cant seem to prgress because no matter where I go, which mob or boss i kill I keep getting the same 2 book drops.
Is the game intended to be like this like from a dev perspective (if they have any which I doubt) ?

Literally doesn't matter if you drop the same books, just throw them into the mimic chest and discover new ones... people make this ♥♥♥♥ out like its the end of the world just farm scrolls and scrap books thats it ???

Book drops are random. Give the vendors in the area a look and see what they are selling. Or send servants out on missions since they bring back lots of books and paper/scrolls/schematics depending on where you send them.

Also, why can't you progress with those? They kill and harvest just as well as any other weapon.

Weapons from merchants, but yes, the Devourer will let you turn those books into research that will eventually get you what you want. Each is I think 15 scrolls per book, which plus production can get you a tidy sum of scrolls. ^_^
