A few gripes
Healing potions.
Healing potions are completely useless during combat in PVE solo, you have a massive delay to drink the damn thing then its cancelled by damage or capped by whatever the ♥♥♥♥ that combat mechanic is... If you cant res because your playing solo then add a companion or rework your healing potions. even souls games aren't this punishing...

Elemental damage.
We have fire res and holy potions but nothing for frost or electrical? What gives?

Dash.
Single charge with an 8 sec CD... If there's a gem that improves this i haven't found it yet...

Keyboard salad.
After all these hours I cant say im a fan of the WASD format at all, it feels sooooooo clumsy and its sooooo brutal if you have RSI (i can only play for a hour or two then i need to recover).

The controller...
Seriously, I feel like whoever was in charge of the controller formatting has never used a controller... D4 nailed it, which is odd because... Its Blizzard.

The rest of the game is great! I love the art direction and have genuinely enjoyed the majority of the game play. End rant

Potions aren't for combat. All combat is a game of attrition and thus the most important combat skill is damage avoidance.

Fire and Holy potions aren't for elemental resistances. They're for not burning to death and entering holy areas, respectively.

Dash CD can be reduced, but not by much. Avoid damage in other ways.

How else would you control a twin stick shooter like this? You can't use the mouse; that's how you aim.

The only gripe I have about controller is camera control is clumsy.

1)Better of using healing spells like sanguine coil, blood fountain and spectral wolf(with a certain spell gem) during combat then fuully depending on potions.
2)At the stygian altar you can have a passive that boosts all resistances
3)A few dashes(chaos, illusion) have a recast(effectively turning them into a double dash) while high quality rogue blood greatly decreases that 8sec CD
4)Buddy you do realize you can set up any key config you want and are in no way forced to run with the one provided by default ?!
5)Don't use one so i got no pertinent insight to share...

skill issue, health potions op :cinnamon2:

1. yeah i use the blood dash, but im running a chaos build. Im aware there's healing spells but my complaint lies with the fact that the potions are pretty much useless particularly in solo.
2. I have that upgrade.
3. Yeah i have rogue blood however running a spell build im usually running with scholar.
4. Key bindings dont fix the wasd and camera issues. (this was a design choice and one im not a big fan of, coming from grim dawn, diablo etc) I understand the devs tried to create something unique however my argument is that theres a reason the control design in D4 PoE etc feel so good.

sanguine coil is unreal, i really should have given this a go earlier. I just really enjoyed my summons and void.

D4 and PoE are completely different games, and the controls with gamepad are quite frankly sad and pathetic.

This is a tri-stick game. Gamepads are terrible for this type of game, and not every game needs to be dumbed down to accommodate gamepad users. It's okay to have some games that aren't dumbed down.

VRising isn't a twin-stick game, it's a tri-stick game.

And D4 is a dumbed-down simplified game for babies.

If the single dash isn't enough, run counters or shields in your spell slots. Use Wraith Spear since it's a combination dash+projectile. Use a weapon like the Slicers which give you immunity frames and stealth or the Greatsword which has an extra dash.

Realistically, don't run a single build. Don't lock yourself as a "Blood Build". Use the spells that work best for the boss you're fighting. Some bosses are much easier if you go ham on melee backed by counters and buffs. Others work better if you switch out to projectiles. Some bosses have tough moves that can be completely avoided by a well-timed stealth.

You can kill every boss with any build, but be aware that trying to force a build through the whole game is a challenge run.

LOL! theres a massive difference between "dumbing down" and poor UX. This is about an accessibility issue for people with disabilities and injuries. get back to me in 20 years and let me know how you feel about playing with RSI then...

Tri stick? lock the camera rotation to the character direction and now you have a twin stick.

Learn to have some compassion mate. not all of us are 12.

You do know this is available on consoles right?
Aye, hah, Sanguine Coil is so ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up. I think I just brute forced Adam, The First Born with that thing. Personally I don't think you should be able to be grabbed while using the Counter abilities, but alas, alas.

yeah i ran Sanguine with veil of blood and crimson beam, smashed adam finally and took out Dracula after a couple of attempts. Now i can go back to my "games for babies"

I would love to take my 38% expertise, fully geared succubus with me as a companion. Have her charm Dracula and let HIM feel what it's like to be CC'd..... I'm not bitter about T2 rifts at all with getting charmed into a stun into an incapacitation.... :ralphhurt:
