I'm here arguing with myself about starting the game; should i keep playing on the empty server i started a while ago or join a newer one with more people? Then i realize it will empty out too, so my decision is more about "can i deal with playing a single player game or not?". Because that's the feeling when joining PvP servers.
They could make something on this lines: decrease servers number and double server size to 120. Everyone above gear score 60 is phased on a second instance of the same server making so that if you don't phase you're not allowed to equip any more gear.
This way:
- you have more people on the same server
- new players are allowed to join and find a free spot to build their base: no more tier 5 castles in farbane if you're not on the 60+ phase instance.
- Spare poor souls from level 90 griefiers as you say
Now i may have overlooked something, and this feature may not be the best idea, but i'm sure they can come up with ways to mitigate the problem of servers emptying out; as of today it is clear they didn't think much about that.
Don't get me wrong, i love V Rising under any other aspect and i wish this game to thrive for many updates as it can go.
That's the reason i think we should keep this discussion open, as for me and many of my friends, this is what made us drop the game in the early access and what is going to make us drop the game again soon.
(PS: i don't like community servers for personal experiences on other games; hate petty people and admin favouring friends by spawning items or things like that, i just like to stick on the "standard rules of the game" and official servers)
