Soul Shards in PvE.

is it just me, or do they do you more harm than good? the loss of the batform severely limits the amount of places you can farm at night. a good build along with some skill can easily do a very good job in farming most areas, the soul shards dont provide much aside from player power and they take away your batform which is the fastest travelling method in game, it is leagues above travelling with the horse. not only are you losing your OP travelling form though. they also have a completely redundant stat in PvE that is the "25% dmg vs vampires" which i assume only works on players cus i didnt notice any difference when fighting NPC vampires.

IMO the loss of the batform doesnt justify running the shards when going out farming (which is the most of what you'll be doing in endgame) cus the time the batform saves you, especially if you're playing solo, is huge. ofc i understand why they do this for pvp but in PvE you're not being hunted down by other players. so the whole bat form restriction is kinda pointless.

so i humbly suggest that the devs look into adding at least an option to allow batform while using a shard. cus for a reward to beating one of the very endgame bosses, they seem.... kinda pointless if you're not playing PvP. they are maybe useful for fighting the other endgame bosses sure but aside from that, they're not all that viable against a good build + batform.

100%. I don't even use the soul shards in PVE on my own server. As cool as the abilities are, bat form is better.

I agree. Really disappointing to grind all the way up to them, and then you lose your bat as a PVE player.

Yeah I chucked it into storage as soon as I could once I realised I couldn't use bat form.
Seems like a pretty stupid decision to not have a toggle for it.

Does the +25% damage vs vampires actually work on Dracula, or is that purely PvP?

I was also kind of disappointed that the shards no longer give a passive buff to your stats, would have been better if when the necklace was on it's pedestal it gave you the passive buff, and if it was on your neck you got the buffs from the necklace instead, that way you still benefit from having the other shards, and, still benefit from the shards if you don't want to use them

Yes, Dracula is considered a vampire (funny without context) for the purpose of the damage to vampires modifier.

The only shards I've really messed with are Drac's and Solarus', and I'll admit that the ultimates are bonkers. By that same stroke, ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ does the lack of Bat Form cramp my style, as someone that likes playing on pub servers just to socialize.

'Hang on lemme put Dracula's soul on the hanger and I'll fly over' is kind of hard to type without people snickering.

there is no such option from what i am seeing in the UI server settings.
if it is only writable in the .json file. can you elaborate on what it is?

you should be able to bat form with shard if you enable waygate teleporting with any loot.

I dunno, I can teleport with it just fine but get a special warning message mentioning that you cannot transform into a bat while carrying a soul shard.

Not just in PvE, even in PvP the new soul shard is still a ♥♥♥♥ design.
That forced ult overide is a deal breaker for me.
