I love to play Greatsword + the spear skill for mobility. But which one do you prefer?
Attack speed + Lifesteal, or Attack damage + Cooldown reduction?
You say that like bosses don't have instant gap closers and a whole host of ranged attacks... or that getting hit on Brutal is bad, full stop.
The only one with a clear archetype is the spell crit/cooldown/leech armour, since if you aren't leaning heavily into spells for damage, there's no point in using it.
You can justify any of the others on just about any weapon. Movement speed is just as important in melee as it is range. Critical hit, weapon skill cooldown, leech, attack speed, they'll all work effectively on all weapons, some will just have a slight edge for certain things. And you can't just take it in isolation.
Like how bows have the highest primary attack, so benefit most from critical hit power in combination with the autocrit from Rogue blood. Or faster attacking weapons with attack speed boosts are more likely to proc Brute bloods 6% chance per health gain effect.
The movement speed armor is just too good to use anything else.
Do you also use the Movement speed pendants?
Put me in a game where the boss won't immediately cleave half of my HP off in 2-3 hits, and make half of that just about nigh-unrecoverable unless you either win or get lucky with blood orbs, and I'll gladly stay in the mix.
Onto the topic at hand though, yeah. Maces, and any weapon with a particularly good infusion on their skills. Like if I wasn't a spellcaster myself, I'd like weapon CD because of my Condemn-infused sword letting me basically spam out skeletons without needing to take the skill. Now take that, and move it over to group play where someone could like wearing that while others wear the other sets.
Spells skills are the last 4 skills, the ones that change depending on the spell selected on the spellbook.
Buffs affect one skill o not depending on this classification.
