What's strange is Aftershock is the only "ignite" spell that I have equipped. Even with it being the only fire spell I have, sometimes the HoT applies and sometimes it doesn't. It's very strange. Sometimes the initial damage heals and sometimes it doesn't. It makes me wonder if it's a bug
I do not.. I just have a basic merciless copper sword. no bonuses or anything. I'll open with the Aftershock spell and somehow the HoT applies and sometimes it wont. I've tried testing it for like 25 minutes and haven't been able to figure out why its inconsistent.
Does the 'HoT' ever occur on a single enemy, or is it consistently only when you hit multiple people? Just curious.
I just tested it again when you posted this comment. I tried a bear and only used the "Aftershock" with the Dark Havoc gem. It applies a Hot both times and then the bear died. Next time I used it on a bandit. Same thing. But the 2nd time I used it on the same bandit, it only healed a single tick and that was it. I tested the same thing with groups of enemies. Same thing. sometimes it applies the HoT and sometimes it doesnt. However, it DOES always heal on the initial instance of damage
Heal on initial is fine because you prob have some life leech.
Question, for bandit test two, was the bandit still burning from DOT?
Was at least one enemy in the group in test 3 affflicted by ignite? Theory is that it's HoT on ignite inflict, and that's why it appears inconsistent.
Yes, I tried it on a group of two bandits. No HoT activation even though they were ignited. I use Aftershock as my initiating skill to test. It just seems to be random unless I'm missing something. I'm pretty early into the game. I just now discovered iron ore so its not like I have many passives on my gear or anything. I'm kind of at a loss lol
