How does the blood work?

So I get that higher quality blood means I get more buffs and there are different blood types. But at what quality does each tier of buff unlock?
What affects how powerful each buff is once it's tier is activated?
What does it mean that I have a 3% - 15% speed buff? Is it 3 or is it 15? How can I tell?
Are there any tricks or tips involving the blood mechanic that aren't immediately obvious?
Can you extend the amount of time you have a blood type before it drains?

There are 5 tiers of blood: 0-29%, 30-59%, 60-89%, 90-99%, and 100%. Each tier unlocks the next buff that the blood provides. You'll see a bar under each buff that indicates how much of that buff you're getting (for example, if the bar is half full and the buff gives 3-15% movement speed, you're getting around 9% increased speed).

There are no tricks. Find a good blood purity. Drink it. Have buffs.

You can't extend your current blood in any way. Once unlocked, you can imprison people so that you can drain them repeatedly so you have specific blood type/purity on demand. You can maintain your blood pool longer by avoiding using it to heal through the use of abilities that heal you, potions, and bear form.
