Oh, I like the challenge. I don't think some of the bosses are just brute force either. They all have move sets you want to avoid.
I just don't like being bombarded without enough ways to avoid. Usually what happens is I get too far away from him and he teleports to me and I get hit by him (A big hit) and a couple of swords. The 2 seconds for each shield spell and any dashing doesn't work after I've used them. Staying close to him doesn't work either. (I've watched all the videos on different ways to beat him so I understand his moves, It's just too much for me. I may play the game again on the harder difficulty level and just end in the same place. I've seen how that fight goes too.)
After about 3 tries my hands hurt too much to continue. After a couple weeks of small sessions, It's just tiring and not fun for me.
As far as longevity there is none.. in PVE the second you beat all the bosses it's over until they add more content.
Dracula feels more like a rouge-like or metrovania type boss in 3D. I love me a good 3D rouge-like, but Dracula is beyond difficult for me. I feel like the balance jumped from decent to unfair in one boss. I've had the game since EA too. I agree, it's great. I wouldn't mind just running around with permanent rifts opening as I find the combat fun. (I also really like the Diablo 3 gameplay loop, and this feels a bit like that. Fight a boss, fight in rifts with bosses for shards, etc.) When I'm in the mood, building and farming mats is also fun. Plus, vampires. Even excellent games have flaws for some people.
I believe in you! You can beat Dracula!
Same for me. It is fun for a time. Build a castle, deck out servants. I did not slide options around and the farming is insane to me. Gives me World of warcraft nostalgia from 20 years ago. The game is just too shallow for single player and 2nd playthrough would just be tedious farming and beating bosses i already know. I doubt i would even farm my way to Dracula on first play, i just unlocked dark silver ingots with a heavy sigh
Not sure what smelling the smoke means.
The first 9 months of release WOW was awesome, but yes, gather all the materials please! Every flower and every node. My friends and I played on a private server later that had drop rates raised. The name had something to do with Ash from Evil Dead. Awesome server with good people. Those were the days.
I played a bit in EA and I didn't want that much grind. Upping the yield is the way to go in these games if you don't have time to grind (or can't play that long for other reasons). Oh, and turning off the teleporter restrictions. In Valheim that is a must for me. Those run times, oh boy.
