When Will Official Native Linux Server Support Be Available?
This is a serious question that has been lingering for a long time without a clear answer. Many players and owners of this game were given false hopes regarding native Linux server support, even though there hasn't been an official statement about it. The current hosting services for the game are notoriously subpar; they often prioritize profit over server performance, resulting in frustrating experiences for those renting these services.

There are numerous high-quality hosting options available online, offering superior hardware and connectivity. Empowering players to host their own servers would not only enhance performance but also give us greater control over our gaming experience.

The insistence on using Windows Server exclusively for hosting is outdated and impractical. Linux servers are known for their superior performance, security, and cost-effectiveness, qualities that major companies prioritize for their operations. If native Linux server support isn't implemented, it will severely limit the future potential of custom private server hosting.

Current hosting solutions like G-Portal are plagued by performance issues, impacting gameplay for everyone involved. Not everyone prefers or is equipped to use Windows Server, which comes with significant drawbacks compared to Linux.

Let's rally for official native Linux server support to ensure a better gaming experience for all players. Join the discussion and let your voice be heard!

the only workaround that i found was using This PiMyLifeUp tutorial [pimylifeup.com] for downloading and running a docker image. the only reason why Linux gets messy is because developers want to make things for windows only and the linux users have to use some unstable jerry rigged workaround that can crash at any time.

Thank you, my colleagues and I are aware of this solution. However, it does not provide any functional support for BepInEx and other mods. This is the bigger problem here, as the majority of hosts for this game prefer to have mods installed.

I have already spent more than 90 hours trying to find some acceptable workaround for the overall issue, but without any luck.

Of course, there are ways to get BepInEx to work on Linux, but with errors, warnings, or possible crashes.

I just found this[vrising.wiki.spellsandguns.com] after some more digging. its not native support, but its something else. (edit) I wasn't able to get this method to work. it functions off wine, but for some reason I can't get the server to initialize.

hey I don't know if you're still interested but with much trial and error I was able to get this to work.
