Can't remove or change staircase
It keeps saying I'm blocked by Castle Pillar, Castle wall but I've removed everything around it see the screenshots. The only thing I haven't removed is the floor piece at the top of the stairs because it says I can't remove the path to ground. Not sure what to do now and I've just ruined half my castle.

I've never seen one get stuck that hard. Stairs can be quite frustrating sometimes. You could try rebuilding the walls and re dismantling them. It also might be the pillars on the second floor hanging over the bottom of the stairs maybe?

It's the railing/walls and pillars on the second floor causing the issue.
Delete those and put the stairs.

ANYTHING and EVERYTHING that's attached to the staircase whether it's below, above, or Leaned up against it has to be removed. Yeah, stupid, I know.

Can't really see the wall or pillar that is blocking the stairs from those screenshots... Is it on the ground level or on the second floor above the stairs?

Do you have another staircase the leads to that area? It won't let you remove a staircase if there is no other way of getting to that higher tile. I've found that putting in a staircase near it, allows me to remove the original one. Annoying as hell yes, but it might help? Oh and also those pillars above the base of the stairs, on the second level, might be causing the issue?

'Path to ground' issue is likely caused by the fact you only have that 1 flight of stairs leading to the upper floor. You can get around it by either removing the entire upper floor (starting with walls/pillars before the floor piece connecting to stairs) OR simply build a second flight of temporary stairs while you fix whatever issue you have with your existing stairs.
