Smooth PVP servers
I think many players would like a mixed experience since this is both a PVP and PVE game. Let me explain better, regardless of the "injustices" of pvp, the real "problem" is that here doing pvp not only hurts the player's ego (which is not a real problem) but here you literally steal his time (stealing his loot) . I think many would like a wow type pvp, i.e. you can play/train in bg or arena as an endgame activity, without losing anything (except a bit of repair). many would like a smoother pvp due to lack of time, or skill or anything else in and out of game. I can accept being a low player and get killed or ganked like on wow but on v rising hours and hours of time/farming can be taken away so my experience is reduced to a pve server, there is no middle ground. so if exsist pve servers, pvp servers and hardcore full loot pvp servers, why not a smooth pvp servers too?

a smooth pvp server might have this type of settings (just as linear idea):

an arch of time per day to make safe farm or only a small percentage of the loot is left to be stealed upon death (like around 10-30%)

two chest/increased stack

offline raid protection

modes, events like arenas/sieging battlegrounds with cosmetic rewards for trasmog and decorations for castle, titles, mounts and so on.

These are just examples for official smooth pvp servers so who find pve too boring or pvp to taxing can still play and enjoy this gorgeous game, without the fear to loose all if they cant log daily and that without renunce to the pvp. in this manner probably it save a server from dying in less than a month keeping up the players over the time. but this just my think

Offline Raid Protection is the best way to do it, balance it and make it so you can still get attacked for 20-30mins after you logged out, so you cant just log out when u see a siege golem

Aiight, so what you do is buy two accounts. Your main farming and your Raider.

Main farming has all the loot. Raider just slaps together a little base in noobville. Your actual base stays unraidable, while you are free to raid as you please.

PvP loses point if people don't get anything from it.
Servers that have no raids or where resources are abundant, people lose interest to pvp. There must be a carrot like in pve.
There are options to make falling softer...

Also, I want to point out that offline raid protection is abusable system. Players can avoid raids simply logging out and prepare to jump in to raid targeted person whenever they are ready.

Dojo is closest to a smooth pvp server by eliminating all the idiotic grind and just jumping into action.

PvP carrot is to PvP, maybe sound crazy but people do it for the fun of it.

I agree only partially with this the
Real goal is the fight for power (the shards. even if they changed them the concept point is the same) and the loot shift on a second plane also thanks to the servant who collect loot for you.
For the offline raid protection abuse can be fixed, not by me im not competent to do it but im sure stunlocks guys are more than experienced enough to find a solution. Maybe like when you (or someone in your clan) log out for 20 min or so your castle is still raidable as drogash say or others specific limitations this is just an example. since raiding/offline is a troublesome and frustrating gameplay mechanic to balance around, even if i imagine for someone can be thrilling, exciting and fun. So here a reason to do officials smooth pvp servers. But i see to get pve servers less boring and the possibility to permit smooth pvp servers to exsist there is a need of "controlled" endgame pvp activity like Arenas and battlegrounds maybe even istanced cross server research like in wow. So if you are on a half dead server you have a reason to keep logging and not starting over and over again on new server hoping it not die in few weeks. This Will increase the life span of a server for sure and will amortize the drop of online Players in absence of New contents.

Yeah, I have see where it becomes not fun anymore. It's when there is no point to pvp anymore.

People who true likes the pvp are in the Dojo anyway or just waiting for 1.0 for the meta changes and new weapons/skills. Why bother with the dumb PvE/grind when you can just jump to a Dojo server?

Because this game is not only about PvP but you do you.
I have played arena. Yeah it's fun but it's like eating only berries from cake.

Don't change the topic my dude, people who pvp don't need a "Carrot" to pvp. and who are intersted on it, will skip all the annoying grind, because they want to do arenas just like in Battlerite.

You are focusing on only on one aspect (And that can be ok) of a far richier game that involve crafting , building , exploration and the gestional part . But i agree to the fact i dont need a "carrot" to do pvp but little incentive are always appreciated.
