Aiight, so what you do is buy two accounts. Your main farming and your Raider.
Main farming has all the loot. Raider just slaps together a little base in noobville. Your actual base stays unraidable, while you are free to raid as you please.
Servers that have no raids or where resources are abundant, people lose interest to pvp. There must be a carrot like in pve.
There are options to make falling softer...
Also, I want to point out that offline raid protection is abusable system. Players can avoid raids simply logging out and prepare to jump in to raid targeted person whenever they are ready.
PvP carrot is to PvP, maybe sound crazy but people do it for the fun of it.
I agree only partially with this the
Real goal is the fight for power (the shards. even if they changed them the concept point is the same) and the loot shift on a second plane also thanks to the servant who collect loot for you.
For the offline raid protection abuse can be fixed, not by me im not competent to do it but im sure stunlocks guys are more than experienced enough to find a solution. Maybe like when you (or someone in your clan) log out for 20 min or so your castle is still raidable as drogash say or others specific limitations this is just an example. since raiding/offline is a troublesome and frustrating gameplay mechanic to balance around, even if i imagine for someone can be thrilling, exciting and fun. So here a reason to do officials smooth pvp servers. But i see to get pve servers less boring and the possibility to permit smooth pvp servers to exsist there is a need of "controlled" endgame pvp activity like Arenas and battlegrounds maybe even istanced cross server research like in wow. So if you are on a half dead server you have a reason to keep logging and not starting over and over again on new server hoping it not die in few weeks. This Will increase the life span of a server for sure and will amortize the drop of online Players in absence of New contents.
Yeah, I have see where it becomes not fun anymore. It's when there is no point to pvp anymore.
I have played arena. Yeah it's fun but it's like eating only berries from cake.
You are focusing on only on one aspect (And that can be ok) of a far richier game that involve crafting , building , exploration and the gestional part . But i agree to the fact i dont need a "carrot" to do pvp but little incentive are always appreciated.
