4. Heavily optimized game
5. Reworked skill system
6. New gear tier
7. More castle decorations
8. New skills
9. New enemy types
10. Armor customization
11. Spontaneous events implemented
12. New weapons
13. Gamepad support
14. Storage improvements
15. New spell book and new ultimate spell (necromancers arise!)
16. New crafting station to unlock passives to modify your gameplay
17. Feature to move your entire castle from one location to another (finally)
And this is only some of the new known features.
"Minor" ...
starting over is a pretty normal gameplay loop in survival games. see rust.
I have close to 550 hours in this game.. and I love starting over.. I can get back to where I am in a few days.. I don;t mind the resets.. gives me a reason to play again.
As soon as the new update comes along you kind of have to learn the game fresh again, which is great.
Pretty much, from playing the game a bunch I already know which parts I like and which I don't so I'm perfectly comfortable tweaking sliders to my tastes.
What do you mean by persistant characters?
The Valheim character I first used back in 2021 when it released is still the Valheim character that I use today. They Valheim devs were able to make it work where the skills and equipment also carried over even after going through multiple major patches involving changes and revisions in skills and equipment.
You can kill 51 bosses, tech up your castle, make all required armor, weapons and jewelry in a single day? I'd love to see it...
It seems to me you view this game as a single player game. I dont. I view it as a pvp survival game. And in that context, something like that would definitely not work.
But with that said, with some knowledge and experience, you can go from 0 to max in this game in 1-3 days depending on luck and dedication.
When that is the case why care about persistant characters? This game just isnt that grindy. I know a lot of people seem to think it is, but trust me, its not. You can cut down the grind SIGNIFICANTLY by just knowing what you are doing.
