Want Amulets for PVP? Sure go for it, but why do it for PVE servers?
Don't want craft from storage for PVP servers? Fine, let PVE servers do it.
Don't want instanced loot for PVP servers? Fine, but let PVE servers do it, as not having each player get their own loot discourages co-op.
Don't want to let players build out from their castle towards the roads on PVP servers? Sure, but let PVE servers have more build room.
Even skills could be adjusted for PVP vs PVE, as doing a Support Build is currently nerfed into the ground for PVE lol.
They should allow you to use them freely (turn into a bat) and give the pedastals usefullness.
Once you've acquired the Shard you can build the old Buff structures in the Container's Tab of your build menu. It's 1 Onyx Tear and some Dark Silver Bars each.
Though sadly they only act as dumb storage containers for the shards now.
I just threw the Shards in them and forgot they existed because I'm not a fan of the passives or ults.
You also get a new piece of Furniture when you beat the last boss that's just purely cosmetic lol.

Speeking of underwhelming. They all used to be accessible to everyone regardless of shard. I DEFINITELY don't like the abilites being locked behind the need for shards. It feels bad and that shouldnt be a thing.
If they want to move away from the hour buff system the had before that's fine but this was the wrong move.
The only hurdle I see is their desire to make the shards useful to PvE players and PvP players equally. This new system definitively does not accomplish that.
Literally only shard worth chasing after in PvP is dracula.
Not a fan of them 1: being amulets, 2: how fast they drain, 3: replacing the ults, 4: uselessness of the pedestals, and 5: the inability to fast travel/be in bat form with them.
IF the preference is to keep them as amulets, they should be a level above the previous tier (to make them more desirable). And the ults should not be tied to them and should be flat boss rewards.
Winged horror shard is pretty ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ strong. Good augments and a great ultimate.
And before you say «but more people play pve!!», does it really matter? And I dont even know if they do, but people keep telling me.
And if there is one thing the shards and the rifts do, its create more pvp.
I mean just look at mortium. There is literally nothing there. The entire zone is just created as a giant pvp arena during rifts.
If I was to recommend a fix, place the ults back into the spellbook, make a new designated EQ slot for the Soul Shards, make Bat Form usable while wearing one, and provide the old buffs on top of the new stuff while wearing them. This fixes the multishard buff stacking, keeps the concept of the new amulet system, and doesn't change our ult to something we might not prefer having.
They are not going to change how the game plays for pve purposes. These are integral parts of the pvp mechanics of the game. You are just playing a version of the game they only have because people want it and why say no to money, but the entire game is built with pvp in mind.
