I want to carry my servant around with me.
Sometimes, I feel like I'm an NPC.
I'm not the Lord.
Servants are adventurers.
I'm the innkeeper who gives quests and the blacksmith NPC who makes equipment.
The Servants each venture out of sight, collect items, and bring them back to you.
I use them to craft their new gear.
And with their new gear, the Servants venture into more difficult areas.

This doesn't feel cool to me.
I want to feel more of an atmosphere.

Like humans roaming around in units,
I want to be able to lead a group of four or five servant
and invade towns and raid named heroes.

Like a badass vampire Emperor,
I want to push through in numbers and do boss raids.

Although working with others isn't a bad idea,
but tackling bosses with a group of faithful servants of my choosing would be very cool.

I do like what you are thinking, I was thinking i'd like for the thralls to do more than just mill around when they aren't on a mission; Why am I the one doing the gardening, or sorting chests? I feel like i'd want my thralls to do those things, you are right that it feels like you're running a bed and breakfast sometimes.

For some reason they opted for mobile game mechanics with this.

There are loads of things they could've done to servants. It's the one system that kept the same from very start without any sort of advancement or change.

Wish they made servants a bit more "alive". Simple things, like having them interact with things in the castle, do gardening, take things into the storage boxes and so on.

Having them as party members I'm not sure if possible, could disrupt the balance and force them to make enemies harder to compensate. Could be done with a dynamic difficulty that takes into account how many servants you carry or something.

wrong game.

How would you incorporate a system like this on a live multiplayer server with 20-40 people?

They're simply a way to get rid of your old and outdated gear sets but also give you reasons to go into the world searching for high blood humans, also gives you a reason to come back to the game, IE come check out what my guys showed up with. Doing it this way was extremely cheap on a technical level for them to implement and adds a lot, imo.

I get wanting to see them in the world doing stuff but that's an expensive request on a technical level.

I'm not really feeling that, been plowing through the game in terms of progression and the stuff they bring back isn't relevant any more. The amount of stuff they bring back is great at least.

I don't want to hear a NPC complaining about their job to make me armor. Get back in the forge and upgrade my weapon.

think about how you aren't having to go out and farm basic resources though
I like it
If it's not useful to you, don't use it I guess. *shrug*

They already have a system for exactly that- that works based on the number of human players are in a fight, they'd literally just have to set it so your servants = players to change the scaling.
