Advice for Silverlight Hills
I've been enjoying the game up to this point, but Silverlight is sucking the motivation to play right out of me. Tons of damage sponge enemies who treat your HP like it's made of glass, but the riflemen are the real pain in my butt. Seems like I can't dodge their shots at all, and I just don't get it.

Anyone have some advice for the region or am I stuck in an unfortunate case of sucking? Currently in Dawnthorn armor, Blood Merlot amulet, Dark Silver weapons. Already have the t3 research table, just trying to build up the coins to buy books, while also hunting elites in hopes of getting dropped ones.

Just got to get good at dodging their shots. They lead their targets, so change direction right when they fire. Or use unholy spells to give them something else to shoot. Or use counters/barriers to negate their shots.

Riflemen are annoying. Use a shield like Ward of the Damned to block shots.

An alternate way to get books is with Stygian shards. If you unlocked the summoning circle you can collect greater shards from the Mortium area and use them to summon a monster that is guaranteed to drop 2 books.

Summon build + reaper

They will shoot skelletons and you can heal yourself with reaper E is best for PvE combat.

So you are already past most of the silverlight hills content. Just keep doing what you were doing.....

You know some houses you can duck in cover in right? Hell I bank on the AI to follow me so I can funnel them in and slap em around with a whip or smack them out with a hammer and watch them breach into the house again only for me to Heart Strike out.

Use the Houses to your advantage and duck around corners and Pillars. AI is super stupid when it comes to fences, so if you wolf form and hop into a pig pen all the enemies will stand around wondering how to get you. So long as there isn't an opening you can hop into a fence and plan out a route of escape, heal up with portion of health is missing and get back to it.

Appreciate all the advice, sounds like I've got some work cut out for me but good to know that the riflemen aren't using aimbot, they just lead harder than the archers.

Didn't know about the summoning thing though, gonna try that for sure, I've been neglecting to build it.

I've not even gone to the Hills til this point. It's only once the game told me "V blood here" that I started to go there at all, so I'm not so sure I'm past most of it's content, but I'll keep on experimenting til I find what works for me

rifleman are cancer until you get bat form. i dont even try to ride around in the area anymore nowadays. they have pin perfect shot accuracy and a 100% dismount change per hit. just walk.

the good news is they dont hit hard at all once you get a bit higher gear levels going.

the lightweavers are the worst enemys in that area by far. thankfully alot more rare to encounter.

the baron fight is hilarious.

One big thing to remember about Silverlight hills is you need to treat it as a police state, patrols merge with each other all the time so if you get stuck into a fight then you'll quickly be outnumbered don't try to fight unless you 100% have to. As for Riflemen here is a trick i picked up over time, don't bother trying to doge their attack and just throw up a shield if you use the one to summon skeletons then you can force them to focus on those while you take them out

Yeah I've been using the advice of Mikail up there, and I'm running corrupted skull and ward of the damned with a Reaper and feel like I'm doing a fair bit better against most situations. Just having adds of my own for enemies to deal with really helps a ton

To be fair, Clergy and Paladins are still a threat and an annoyance into the 80s.

And woe be to anyone if their patrols converge at the intersection you're at lol.

Honestly just use a bow and aoe spell like void. It's crazy good for pve. 2nd weapon can be reaper or pistols for an extra dodge and attack. You can also try some necro variation like someone said.
