Ancestral Weapons Question
I was just noticing that you can take your ancestral weapon that you made from the iron tools and upgrade it with dark silver weapon. But it looks like it will lower the dark silver from 23 lvl to 20. I am not about to try and see what happens as I don't have the extra materials to waste. It doesn't make since to me why it would lower the weapon level. Thought I would check and see if any one else had seen that and tried to see what it does.

It's the opposite. If you temper your ancestral weapon with a darksilver one it will bump its ivl to 23, the darksilver level.

That is what I needed to know. The image I am seeing it make it look different and I was afraid to try it. Next question though. Does doing that mess up the crafting of Sanguine weapons? I have not made it to the boss for the Athenaeum yet. For example I upgrade my ancestral pistols with the dark silver pistol. Does that turn into something I can't upgrade into the sanguine pistols. The wiki shows the recipe for sanguine as using dark silver pistols. I hope that makes sense. Thanks for all the time and help.

It consumes the darksilver weapon, so yes it does.

Okay. Thanks. Then I feel it would be best for me to skip that upgrade, continue using my dark silver stuff and just wait till I can get my stuff to make sanguine. I don't even understand why that is in the game if it messes up the progression of upgrading those weapons.

If you happen to roll good stats and spell type on your iron weapons it's sorta worth it. You'll have to craft double the weapons for upgrades, but until you get purple ancestral weapons the Blue level ancestral weapons will carry you very far into the game.

the sad part is they keep thier boring iron appearence in exchange and later you need the sanguine weapons to make the level 30 final tier ANYWAY.

but this atleast made the ancestral weapons worth useing for longer than during ea where they where not worth it at all.

the level 30 ones are overpriced tough. only way to get them now seems from tier 2 rifts which happen too rarely overall. and you can barely farm enough shards for 1 weapon before the time is up most the time.

plus the passives eating away tons of shards on top.
