Why can;t we teleport with simple items?

I need to get back to base after exploring etc and found a new portal miles from my base, I can;t teleport because I have copper ingot and glass on me, why does the game restrict teleportin gbecause of some odd items like that? seems a bit silly?

It's a PvP thing. Makes it so players have a chance to get bullied and robbed by other players after filling their bags.

If you're on a private server, you can change the settings to allow teleporting with materials. Old materials before the change still can't be teleported, but new materials can.

Yes. At the main menu, select Load Game > select your server > Edit Settings.
