Does castle decay in single player?
Will my castle decay overtime if not replenished in single player mode?

I'm playing coop with my brother, just the 2 of us on a server and the castle doesn't decay when you log out luckily.
You still have to feed the castle while playing ofcourse.

I've been playing solo since I got the game the other day. I think it will decay if you let it while in game, but you will eventually gather so much essence that it never really should unless you intentionally let it. Also, the timer doesn't continue to count down while you are not actively logged in unlike in PVP from what I read.

Yes, just go into your server setting and you will find it there. Just turn down the decay multiplier. You can also turn down the consumption I think.

The server needs to be running for it to decay, in single player it's not running while you're not playing it. You can also set the decay to 0 in advanced settings and castle blood essence drain to 0.1 if you really want to.

When blood essence runs out the castle will be in decay mode and can be reclaimed by anyone who has access to the castle heart. If the decay setting is above 0 then it will slowly lose parts until nothing is left except dropped bags from containers.

Yes and No.
Yes it decays (while online, not while offline) but you can set the slider in the server options to "max" and with 1k blood thingys in it decays over.. what? 22 days? and you will be flooded with the blood thingys you need ;)

I have two castles at the moment, setting up the third (I use them as additional teleport places) and its no issue at all, even if I dont play for a day or so.

It does, but it's almost a non-issue, since the counter only ticks down while the server is running
