no roof large area 1 level

i expanded my castle base to expand the territory but since then i cannot get the roof to show up so i have the misters going. every wall is connected, (all upgraded castle walls) i had separate rooms but deleted them so now its just 1 huge area with no ceiling/roof. with 3 doors out, and 5 windows.

i've never experienced this issue b4, do the large areas require pillars or something? thanks for any advice.

All you need is the area to be fully enclosed with stone walls, and every tile of ground covered with flooring.

yeah that's what i thought..hmmmm it's all floored and walled. so weird.

It certainly looks like it's all enclosed and properly floored to me...

Only thing I can think of is that there might be something somewhere hiding under one of your machines, or maybe you missed a single tile under your waygate.

iirc, the castle heart cannot have any tiles beneath it, since it itself *is* a tile

It used to be a thing long ago that the heart couldn't be inside, but that's no longer a problem.

Not sure if the overall size is the problem, but it could be better for you to maybe start building walls to make different rooms.

A separate but helpful detail, is that work benches get an extra bonus for not just being in an enclosed room, but one with matching flooring. whereas the workbench, the sawmill, and the grinder all benefit from "workshop" flooring, the Smelter wants a room with "Forge" flooring, so not only would this potentially fix your issue, but you'd also get crafting bonuses from that.

if this is still a issue, half of the interior floor tiles HAVE to be castle flooring, for a roof to properly spawn

thanks everyone, i reloaded and it was still a problem so i built off separate rooms w/o main gate doors and eventually the roof came back and covered everything. not sure still why but at least it's all good.
