Stair replacement tips?

Essentially, I want tips on how to replace stairs quickly, it's so tedious unlocking new wallpapers and foundations, then when I unlock stairs and it's time to replace them, I gotta disassemble chunks of my castle instead of just placing it over the existing ones.

If there's no surefire trick or way, maybe just a tip on what to remove to effectively replace stairs.

It would be really nice to replace it with others. You can replace walls, candles and everything else, but not stairs.
