Trees, Greatsword vs axes

I noticed the Greatsword does extra damage against trees

Does that mean If i main greatsword do I still have to make axes
Or can I drop them

All melee weapons work on trees. Using the "right" one just saves you a swing or two. Bring as many or as few as you like.

Any weapon can mine any resource. Axes get an inherent bonus to chopping trees. If you like swinging your sword at the tree go nuts, it works.

Did a quick test.
Iron Greatsword cut a tree down in 7 swings. Took 5.5 seconds.
Iron Axe cut a tree down in 10 swings. Took 6 seconds.

The axe Q and E abilities help with harvesting though. Greatsword not so much

Great sword rush attack can absolutely demolish a tree. I've used both the axes and the greatsword and the greatsword can clear trees about twice as fast simply because of how much damage that ability can do to trees.

Great swords literally get the same amount per tree as axes do. The whole "it's better on x resource" is bogus. You get exactly the same amount of resources The merciless iron great sword chops down a tree in 6 swings and gets around 160 wood and the axes take 9 swings for the same amount. Don't just read a tooltip and then start spouting your expertise if you've literally never done any testing.

Great sword is absolutely the go to weapon for harvesting wood, hands down.

im pretty sure he mean with "bonus" the bonus dmg and not bonus resources lol
