Legendary (orange) weapons

Who drops them?

I'm talking orange 30 level weapons, not purple 30 level weapons for Greater Stygian Shards.

Buy them from the vampire trader in mortium for greater shards, ive had 1 drop from lvl 2 rifts as well

There are two vampire traders in mortium, one sells the purple ones for regular shards, the other sells the orange ones for greater shards

As far as I know they only drop from tier 2 rifts and are fairly rare.

you use greater stygian shards from the merchant.
YES THEY ARE PURPLE but once crafted have a CHANCE to turn into orange instead (i got 15 and 3 turned orange) so instead of being rude as ♥♥♥♥, maybe listen?

You people keep confusing orange weapons from before 1.0 with orange weapons after 1.0, these are NOT the same. You do not have orange weapons in 1.0, and do not understand the difference.

Again: Orange weapons before 1.0 are the same as Purple weapons after 1.0

Orange weapons after 1.0 are NOT the same as Purple, nor are they the same as Orange before 1.0

The purple guy sells them too. Sometimes when you buy a purple, he'll give you an orange instead, but it is rare. Its how I got my orange greatsword.

Two ways. about 25% from defeting lvl 2 rift boss, and buying from top merchant in new location. They need to solo 3 lvl 2 rifts if you want to afford one at 1500 great shards.

No way it’s 25 percent. I’ve done over 30 and have gotten no orange shards. I’ve done about 15 vendor rolls and nothing. I’ve made about 6 of the purple shards at the forge and none turned gold. No idea wtf is going on. This seems like suspiciously bad rng.

I've only had one drop from the shard boss in silverlight hills the first time i killed him, but I've killed about 30 shard bosses since then and have never gotten another to drop so they must be absurdly rare drops from them.

I've killed over 30 level 2 rift bosses and have never seen an orange weapon, just a bunch of purples.

Source? Ive spent over 10k of shards on the vendor never turned into orange crafted all purple weapons x2 and some x3 never turned orange, sounds like ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ so far the only REAL way i found how to get them is from T2 bosses, and got x3 oranges atm.
