Singleplayer or Multiplayer?
Is this better experienced as a solo player or multiplayer? As in, am I going to hit some impossible wall of difficulty by playing solo?

I have pretty much good experience playing on a PvE Server. Now and in Early Access. I did a lot of bosses solo, so it isn't about the difficulty, its more about the nice random encounters i had with other players. Like saving someone because the player had a disconnect or seeing someone is also doing the same boss etc. at the same time. Having a fellow vampire passing by, fills the world more with life. I would recommend joining a server and enjoy the game in multiplayer.

This is not a solo game. Everything is balance around multiplayer. The bosses are tuned for multiple people. This game is not fun solo and I don't recommend playing it alone.

Depends on what are you looking for, but i would always suggest to play in your own server so you don't need to care about your castle maintenance allowing you to play more relaxed.

Also you will have every resource available for you and most importantly if you don't like to farm for hours like me, you can increase the resources and customize a lot more things like 6 floors castles and stuff like that.

You can also play with friends if you want in your custom settings servers wich is far better than official imo.

Oh and about the solo experience, every boss can be done solo so don't worry about that but obviously it will be easier with other people.

Well... I bought the game today... just to play solo... and stick the whole day to it.
Clearing bosses up to GearLevel 47 until now. Only "issue" which leads to death sometimes is, wrong spell selection for a boss. Change up. come back. kill.

No issue solo. I can recommend it.

Just tune some farming values up and speed the crafting, reduce the decay of your castle. Done.
I did not change any damage or drop stuff.

When I play solo I customize the difficulty to my liking to make it a little less grindy.

I´m playing both. One Charakter for myself and Solo and one with my boyfriend. And I can say, I have no problems at all when playing alone.

Cohh has been soloing Brutal on Twitch.

this is a solo game, a pve as that first and foremost,

multiplier is a + but not required.

if you were there on prior big update release and did your time there and then, you'll find the measy to deal with again by yourself.

not to mention you have a relax setting that make them utterly weak compared to "normal"

You can play either way. I prefer solo

Ive tried to play the game twice now, and twice I haven't. I get on to start playing, and need to select ruleset/sliders. I check the presets and there is a ton, including solo pvp, but no solo pve. I just wanna play some single player, and I cant even begin to adjust these million sliders properly, because I've never even played to know their effects, or how much/if to move them. Does't help that most are pretty vague, and don't state which direction does what when adjusting.

I sit there and mess with it for 10 or 15 min, trying to look up what the sliders do, and what base values are, until I just say screw it and close the game.

They are the devs, they know what this ♥♥♥♥ does, and how to properly balance rulesets for different scenarios, and the best way to experience their game. Not me, a dude who has never even played, and don't know the basics or how long things take. I don't even know how many players default settings are balanced for to start adjusting, and I don't wanna keep testing and making adjustments. Just add a solo PVE ruleset, or really just single player ruleset. Really, it seems like a common sense basic thing, yet its missing. I didn't think too much of it in EA, but its post 1.0, and its STILL missing.

Regardless if I ever want to play online or not, I'm going to learn the game and familiarize myself with its mechanics by playing through, before going online, some people don't have time, some people only wanna play solo. It's a pretty big part of the playerbase going by posts, reviews, and videos I see, not like its a small handful of players part of some niche group. It doesn't really encourage people to just play online or in a group by not having the ruleset, either, its just an annoyance.

Kinda pointless searching for "single player custom ruleset" as well, since many of them are like pushed to the point of feeling like cheating or "creative mode", with massive boosts and instead of a proper challenging but fair solo experience. They're just a single persons opinion, based on their player preferences for their specific situation, and likely someone who has significant time already playing. Only the devs can really set it up to give the intended experience based on their vision of how long or difficult the game should be for a new/first time player. You don't know what you don't know. I need to properly balance it to play, but i need to play to know how to properly balance it...

it can be soloed. your build time for your castle will just be a bit longer to finish up to get better gear since you are a lone vampire than having a Clan of 4. I too have just purchased this game to see how it is on making a solo private server and it is fun to do this on your own when you have free time. This game is not to stay online all day like the other games out there where you streamers that do not sleep.
