good in single player?
Hi all,

Is the game good when you play solo? Would you recommend it to me? I dont want to play with other people.

In same MP survivor games the crafting is terrible as a solo because it takes ages to farm resources. Is that an issue in V Rising when playing solo?

Also is it possible to beat all bosses as a solo player?

Thx a lot.

I'm a bit biased, obviously, but from my own experience and what I've heard repeated from other players, you're fully able to enjoy the game solo. That being said I'm sure there are plenty of other people who can weigh in if you don't want to take my word for it.

Unless you can't do without PvP or company in general then solo is the best way to play the game. The land stays unspoiled and you can change your server options to have the game rules suite you.
Also there were reports of grieving by blocking off access to a players castle, but I think the devs done something to stop that, but yeah I would go solo, your not giving up anything.

Crafting and building are very good in VR, but the bosses you need to be ready for, don't rush in. Most of them have skills and patterns for you to get to know. It's really down to how you are with the combat, my reactions are not what they use to be so I struggle with some of the bosses.

Welp you can't play offline and there is no Pause-option. It's an always-online Multiplayer-only game, where a Singleplayer mode has been patched on... Basically the exact opposite of Fallout.

This game is not harder than Dark soul, so you can play this game easily single player mode.

The game is great solo. There are plenty of options to customize the game to your liking, including increased loot drops and faster crafting/refining to reduce grind concerns. I haven't reached the newest content yet, but beat all bosses in the previous update solo at default settings.

You can absolutely play this game offline.

I just noticed that I can change the "server" rules even later on. I started out with a private server to play by myself and found out that I wanted to change something, no problem. I made the grinding a bit less for me, so you can really tweak the settings however you like whenever you want apparently.

The game iis good in solo and even better in a group. But for solo i would reccomend tweaking settings to make the progress more balance since you dont have others to get stuff and craft/build, so as solo bump up some resource/craft/build stuff for solo.

It's doable solo, at least it was prior to this update, but I don't imagine that's changed.
That said, doing my first solo brutal run (third run ever), I don't really find myself enjoying it as much. Which is odd given even when I didn't play solo, I tended to solo most, if not all the fights.

Most of my friends who played with me the previous times have opted to skip the 1.0 update for now, so I'm just gonna play through it clear for achievs, but I think I'd be having a lot more fun co-op than solo. The game is just a bit too generic-survival to be as enjoyable solo, even if the combat is well-made.

I’ve only ever played solo, you can configure the difficulty and grind as much as you like but am finding normal to be great, I just made it so I can teleport with loot and upped item stack size to max.
It’s a lot of fun for me solo, progress and pacing feels good.
I do wish they would add an option to link storage for crafting, but it’s manageable and you just need to consider placement a bit more with storage and stations

Yes, it's an awesome game to play solo. The V blood bosses are easier to solo than to do as a group due to scaling. Being offline in single player allows you to fine-tune a lot of settings and make the game a lot more friendly. i.e. teleport with ore, remove gear repair cost, allow to get more than 2 castles on the map.

II have about 70 hours before 1.0 and about 15 hours since release all solo and I am good with it. I can do whatever I want and the bosses can be done solo so far. I have no desire to play with others either and so far its been good.

Since I've only ever played solo (just over 250 hours to date) I can absolutely recommend it. :) I also did adjust the server to my liking just like Arbadacarba said (like teleporting or flying with my inventory... seriously, use that adjustment), and you can play around with this and difficulty levels just as you like. Right now I mostly just enjoy the collecting and building, so my difficulty level is pretty low, which makes fights rather fun (yes, quite easy, I enjoy it that way :P ). But as MrWofu said: no pause button and no offline mode (annoying if you want to get a coffee and are NOT at your castle, but otherwise... not that bad, really).

Yes but change the settings to double or triple the resources yield, amount of castles, tp with materials in the inventory, etc. otherwise it's incredibly slow.
you can change settings so that you gather faster and can adjust damage stats to make it easier.
