Material yield increases the amount of resources you get from a node. So every hit on a node gives you a multiple of that number per hit. For instance if you normally get 10 wood per swing, and your multiplier is at 2, you would then get 20 wood per swing.
Resource Yield Multiplier multiplies the BONUS you get from equipment that gives a bonus. So say axes give you an extra 10% wood per swing. So every swing gets you 11 wood instead of 10. If your multiplier for Resource Yield multiplier is 2, you'd get twice the bonus. So instead of the 10% wood it's 20% wood, so 12 wood per swing.
Thank you for coming to my ted talk about hitting trees.
