Own dedicated server not showing in list?
I followed the guide, names my server, gave it password, run the bat file (or the server exe) but the server never shows in list, i port forwarded as well.

FIXED:
seemed to have fixed it. It turns out BOTH Steam + EOS settings in server need to be set to true for it to show in the server list, not just steam.

The other issue was the guide told me to use the server settings in this location: C:\Users\\AppData\LocalLow\Stunlock Studios\VRisingServer\Settings

But the game BAT file is actually using the settings in the: D:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\VRisingDedicatedServer\VRisingServer_Data\StreamingAssets\Settings

So all the internet guides are wrong telling me to use the path in locallow. it uses the settings in the steam app folder for the server...

ill check, another problem 2 diff guides tell me to edit settigns in two places, 1 guide says edit settings in D:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\VRisingDedicatedServer\VRisingServer_Data\StreamingAssets\Settings

and the other in the copied over location of C:\Users\****\AppData\LocalLow\Stunlock Studios\VRisingServer\Settings

also when i run bat not much show up, it says starting and then a bunc of unit stuff
[UnityMemory] Configuration Parameters - Can be set up in boot.config
"memorysetup-bucket-allocator-granularity=16"
"memorysetup-bucket-allocator-bucket-count=8"
"memorysetup-bucket-allocator-block-size=4194304"
"memorysetup-bucket-allocator-block-count=1"
"memorysetup-main-allocator-block-size=16777216"
"memorysetup-thread-allocator-block-size=16777216"

etc etc but it doesnt load like when you click the servcer.exe

it should leave a cmd window open with that saying so yes, at that point it is running, if you close that window the server will stop as well.

I would test a direct connection to your server just in case. I have a similar issue right now where my server isn't showing up on the list, but I can do a direct connection with the ip address followed by the port I set. That'll at least tell you the server itself functions.

port set?
Wighar May 9, 2024 @ 1:26pm
interesting,, say do you use any specific router? you will need to open the port obviously, I would assume you have done so normally, my reason for asking is cause I myself have a D-Link router and I have found that you often have to do a 2nd opening of the ports in the Virtual Server section.

Sorry with what you set the port as in your host settings file.

So it would be something like 192.168.1.1:9876

Good deal! So your server actually appears in the list or are you just doing the direct connection?
