Stealth Update Broke Controllers?

Before this update I got just now, I could switch between using keyboard and mouse to type things or access menus, and then go back to my controller when getting back to the action.

Now... I can't switch between them at all, and now I can't access the server I rented using my controller because I can't input the password.

Devs, what did you do??? Unbreak my controller support!

Don't know about most recent update, but this has always been broken for me. In fact, when the game first starts, I had to remember to NOT move my controller because if I did, the mouse prompt goes away, I'm unable to enter a password, and have to kill the game and relaunch it and remember to not move the controller.

Yeah whatever I use at first is stuck in that mode until I close out the game. Entire night last night I was switching on the fly between mouse/keyboard and controller. Come home to a 1000mb update and now I can't use them in interchangeably anymore.

I have had that happen with a lot of other games due to Windows and Unity not recognizing the later output after unplugging the controller during the game. I am not so sure this has to do with the game update they did.

Had this exact same issue today. I myself play on keyboard and mouse, but my girlfriend prefers controller and sometimes keyboard and mouse for inventory management. Now she can't login to my game. If she uses the keyboard and mouse to log into the game the controller can't make inputs to the game no more.

Looked around and by some google search found this article about the shadow patch in which they provide a "solution". It is a super ♥♥♥♥♥♥ "solution" setting your controller up as a keyboard and mouse which means you miss a lot of vital buttons and making the game more or less unplayable. It stops showing the controller inputs in the game HUD. I sure hope the fix this problem soon since it worked fine before the patch, even though it was a bit clonky with the camera button.

I have have found and solution. Or at least it's worked consistently for me.

Input your password with keyboard and mouse, and as the game is loading press the START button on your controller. It has allowed me to play with my controller again.

THANK YOU!!! this has worked for me. using a keyboard and mouse start up the game and join the server, enter the password and click connect, then immediately hit start on your controller. you will load in with the ability to swap between K/M and controller at will like you used to.
