How is the Controller support?
Have been eying this game and now that it's out how is the controller support? Was thinking of picking up either V Rising or Last Epoch so I'm deciding by couch comfort factor.
Are the controls good or at least manageable? How's the Menue management, camera and movement feeling?

Awkward is how I feel about it.

I tried it on my Steam Deck, and I think the gamepad support is great.(Added in the 1.0 release) I didn't play it too much, just a quick test, but if you prefer controller over mouse and keyboard, you'll be fine.

It’s pretty good besides having camera rotation on triggers. Totally manageable, plenty of multi buttons, a select wheel ect.
Feels snappy to me after an hour.
Takes getting used to but I do hope they let us change the rotation input soon.

If it's only the camera that's a bit wonky I think I can manage. Thx guys!

Yeah besides that I’d say they did a good job, also plenty of interface showing what buttons do what, just takes time to get the muscle memory locked in.

My 9 year old is able to handle it on her Steam Deck, remember to turn off the steam input, so that the game allows itself to calibrate to your gamepad. She is able to handle it without much issue, and the camera is pretty easy once you get the hang of it. Additionally, the on screen prompts are clear for each command, they did a good job with it. IMHO.

It's good only you can't use a mount there's a weird bug, you have to hold X(A) but those buttons are also the cancel action button. Only does it with the horse though idk why.

That’s odd, hope they can fix that before I get a mount, is that a known bug?

Game didn't seem to like my dualsense when I tried it, kept swapping between ps and xbox icons and movement would stutter every time it happened.

Unfortunately any available form of control for this game feels clunky and alien to me. It's the one very big elephant in the room that spoils what could have been perfect experience.

I have no idea why the dev's have designed the controls to be so horrible, they must have a strange way of playing games.

You have to turn off the steam input setting and then everything in the game changes and it works perfectly

I was one that bought the game and immediately put it away till there was controller support. If a game can have controller support, it should. I picked this game up last night and made sure the controller config was set to ingame and I gotta say, controller support (xbox) is really good. No real issues so far
