I was excited to hop on to play full release. I'm now not after this topic and your response.
If what is said is true, the game was objectively better prior to full release. Which is an utterly incompetent thing to have happen. We shouldn't need to vote for features to come back. They shouldn't have left in the first place.
I just bought the game today and am worried as well. These responses from the developer/publisher are awful.
It's a great game, this is a very specific complaint that doesn't effect the average player. If you don't plan on hosting your own servers, you can just out right ignore this feedback.
For anyone who would like context on what the settings used to look like:

The settings for resources and damage to resources is still in the game, though.
Haven't had to use gems for torch colors in ages (pretty sure that was pre-Gloomrot).
Horses have been able to teleport for ages, also.
These are trivial changes compared to what's been removed, tho.
What in the clown world? He's not making a suggestion he's saying he's changing his review. I'm sure nobody voted for less options in the first place either. Also, did you just mark your own post as an answer? Holy cow. x'D
Maybe a small part of it, was conflicting with the new Difficulty settings. Being able to pick a difficulty level for the server, and then have server options that just counteract those default settings, could be counter-intuitive and confusing. You average newb player, confused why some Relaxed Difficulty server feels harder than a Brutal server.
As for other options, your guess is as good as mine.
I actually like the bigger wheel, but I'd like to see bringing back the ability to swap positions. Perhaps this was related to getting solid controller support for 1.0.
Based on the existence of a total of two suggestions posts (three once I finish my post regarding these settings), no one voted on it. I can't understand why they removed some of the settings. Some I can understand. For instance, it makes sense that you can't modify each individual raid boss, when changing settings for enemies in general or bosses in general would suffice. Others, like blood drain rate or silver/garlic/sun damage, are just playstyle preferences. I like to reduce but not eliminate the damage and increase damage to resource nodes (because I don't like spending a whole minute per tree, that's boring), but I know there are people who'd max out all damage sources and try a hardcore permadeath run.
I play solo, like many other players do. The missing settings very much affect my gameplay, since I don't want to spend a minute per tree or rock clearing resource nodes out to set up my base. If I were in PVP that would add tension, not knowing if another player might show up and attack me while I was out gathering. But, if I'm playing a solo game, there's no point requiring that much time other than to increase the grind. I also like to make the game a little easier, since, unless changes have been made, a solo game is still balanced for multiplayer.
My friends are either not interested in this game or not interested in multiplayer games in general, so it's highly unlikely I'll ever be playing in a group.
Basically, I don't see any good reason that people suddenly can't tweak the settings to their precise preferences. I suspect, because of how the tabs were added into settings, it has more to do with organization/keeping things simple and clean than it does with any conflict with existing settings. Also, it's worth noting that a significant number of people can't even get the existing advanced settings to apply in a private server anymore. It wasn't broken before, so why did they "fix" it?
