Advanced Settings Check-
How do I make sure that my desired advanced settings are active in a private game?

I selected my preferred advanced settings before creating the world, but when I started play and went to System, I immediately saw the PVP setting was incorrect. The Change Difficulty option only gives me the basic three difficulties and no obvious way to fix the advanced settings.

When in Advanced Settings, I can make settings choices and save the ruleset, but there does not seem to be a way to lock that ruleset to my game. I cannot go forward, just back out.

Thank you for the links. I will pursue this as an alternate avenue in addition to asking for help from the people here on Steam who may be experiencing the same issue and have advice.

I have removed your comment as the "answer" to the question. I will mark as the answer a response that actually fixes the problem.
I have the same issue.

If you load a custom rule set, then hit "back", then start the game, it doesn't seem to be applying the custom game settings either.

follow EXACTLY those steps:

1-change one thing in the advanced settings,
2-save,
3-change the thing to YOUR real setting,
4-save,

now the server will load up with the REAL saved settings.

It seems the page is missing an APPLY button for the settings but the method i just said does works as i had the same issue.. i made a custom setting configuration and the server loaded with the default ones... till i made those few steps..

Repeat every time you need to edit something again later on (apparently the SAVE button works as some sort of """save & apply directly""").

Yup I think these guys aren't saving their settings before jumping in game. You have to use the Save button in the prompt at the bottom of the screen. For controllers it is the Y button. On Keyboard I'm not sure what key it is though. Anywho it's listed at the bottom. You don't have to hit save after each change like the other poster said. You just have to make sure you save before starting the game.
So, my custom ruleset wasn't saving because I'd set durability to lowest on the slider, 0. If you bump it up one tick to 0.25, it will let you save the changes.

This must be a bug as I have my durability at 0 and it saved just fine and none of my gear takes damage in game.

I did save, repeatedly, then loaded, saved again, and tweaked after loading and re-saved. It still did not work. I deleted at least 3 new saves because of this issue. It won't even allow edits to the settings once you've exited back to the menu. You save, close, go back to check, and they're right back on the default settings.

Ya, I'm doing the exact same thing. I have a custom ruleset saved, no luck. I also tried loading one of the preset rules (PVE Dawn 30) and didn't have any luck there either.

Why not just help here? Why the wild goose chase?
I'm pretty sure they used to have a "play" or "apply" button right there in the Advanced Settings menu. I also know for a fact that the advanced settings menu used to have many more options available, pertaining to damage (to resources and enemies, including bosses), blood drain rate for the vampires, and sun/silver/garlic.

The settings worked before 1.0. You know what they say about things being broken... if they aren't broken, don't fix them. Well... this would be why.
Having the same issues getting a custom ruleset to save, including the provided ones. Keeping a close eye on this topic to see if any solutions help but so far saving just isnt registering changes, even after tweaks
All those with this issue, it has to be a bug with saving the profile. I didn't save a profile I just used the normal settings save and started the game and everything worked for me.

Can some of you help me verify this? I have the same issue I think...I also created a custom ruleset but it does not appear anywhere...

For testing purposes:
Sawmill produces 1 plank with 10 wood in 10 seconds.

Building a small chest is 50 or 75 wood (don't remember exactly)

How does it look for you?
