Blocked by Environment
What am I doing wrong? I get the Blocked by environment error almost everywhere. If there is a tree, stump, or ruin (which are everywhere in the first area), I can't put down floors. I can't even find space for a 9x9 for example anywhere. It's just ruined this game for me. I've been running all around this area and watched video after video and can't figure out what to do?

Help anyone!

Get rid of all the trees with the axe (you get more wood out of it this way), tree stumps can be build over, get rid of ruins like walls and pillars with the mace (gain more stone). After that you should be able to place the floor tiles first and the walls after that surrounding the floor tiles.

If things are in the way, destroy them. Then they're not in the way. Also, make sure you're not in the way, too.

You literally just saved my game. Thank you!

Using the "right" tool for the job doesn't actually yield more resources, it just deals more damage to the resource node, resulting in it being harvested faster.

For example, knocking down a tree would yield 100 wood total, with an axe taking 8 swings to complete the task, while a sword would take 11. Same amount of resources, fewer hits with the "right" tool.

OP, genuine question, have you been playing other games where you didn't have to remove obstacles before building?

Not being a smartass, just wondering what created the confusion for you. Having to remove trees/rocks to build is pretty standard in most survival games like this one.
