What makes a server "merciless"?

I try to launch a dedicated server, and it keeps appearing with a "more advanced settings" skull, which means that it's filtered out by default (you need to change the filters to "show merciless"). But what makes it "merciless"? It's not even PvP. I only changed some rate modifiers, it's mostly default.

It seems that all server with this setting have "abundant territory" in the server list.
I haven't been able to fins out why yet.

It just means you've changed something in advanced settings. So changing rate modifiers gives it the "more advanced settings" skull. Basically it's a marker of "non-Vanilla" world.

As said above, if you customized any settings over the 3 default vanilla profiles, you'll ge the icon.
