i dont understand multiplayer in this game ?

I bought this in EA and was waiting for full release...and i am baffled by the way this game operates .
This is basically a SINGLE PLAYER multiplayer game.
-->So we cant play on official servers because they will wipe progress after 6 months ? who is ok that ?
--> if u make a local save on ur pc , you can basically cheat through game with all settings changeable via edit server settings like loot etc and i realistically cant play multiplayer. because who would make a character in other persons world which cant be played in case host is offline.Same goes for friends .Characters are not transferable across worlds /servers.

i dont get it...how do i actually play multiplayer ? can anybody help me understand this ?
why couldnt they made the multiplayer system like valheim ?

TLDR : how do i play multiplayer PVE with other people without threat of wiping my progress in 6 months.
I have no interest in paying more for dedicated severs

6 months is a very long time to complete all of the content. A reset can give players incentive to start over and play again. Also, part of the multiplayer experience is the race to be #1, so a reset acts as the starting gun for that race.

If you don't like "cheating", don't cheat.

If you want to play while others are offline, then you're looking for a dedicated server. Those are kept online at all times so all players can join it whenever they want. You can either set one up yourself, or pay to rent a server from a third-party.

in valheim character are transferrable across world so you can literally play with anyone with your own character without needing your character to be created in the host world....i have no interest in PVP bu t mosty PVE , how do i play multiplayer without paying again for dedicated serves on top of the money i spent buying the game.
why cant there be normal PVE servers for plug and play .....like every other multiplayer game in existance.

V rising and valheim server structure is the same? If you want a dedicated server, join one. If you want to play alone without wipes, play private. I'm not sure what the issue is.

You play on a private server that doesn't do wipes. It's not that hard to figure out.

Yeah, find a community to play with who doesn't wipe. May have to ask on Discord or look for advertisements. You're not the only one who doesn't want to put up with wipes (or doesn't have time to clear the game in a week or two).

wouldnt it have made sense to have official PVE servers with no wipes? i dont get the wipe after 6 months stuff? who is ok with that ? we all have other games to play as well right?

The game is designed around the wipe system, much like rust/tarkov/ark/conan/DayZ. Part of the fun of these styles of games is the complete progress and map reset so that a new story can begin. People living in different locations, different clans warring with each other, the initial rush of who is going to establish dominance in particular locations, it all plays in very heavily to these games.

If you're not a fan of that, then you can always play single player, but you're missing out on a lot by not participating in multiplayer in games like this. Also the game is sorta built around pvp as well so neglecting that whole aspect is really costing you a lot of the experience of playing the game.

If all you're wanting to do is build a big castle, gather a bunch of NPC's to stick in it and walk around killing things, you don't really need any other people to do that.

The wipes are there because you can literally accomplish everything you could ever NEED to in about 50-70 hours. So then 6 months?? Is sooo long its ridiculous..

So, to keep things fresh they have wipes. That's it if you don't like it then you will have to do one of three things

1) Host your own server
2) Find a player hosted server that has no wipes.
3) Peer hosting on your own machine and people join your game while you are online.
