Is there a way to toggle instead of hold for camera rotation on controller?
It would be great to be able to toggle the Y/Triangle camera mode instead of having to hold it down to manipulate the camera. Is this possible?

You can just tap the Y button (on Xbox controller) to face the camera snap to the direction your toon is facing, albeit momentarily

I want to be able to rotate the camera with the right stick. Why?!

Yeah it was odd for them to do it the way they did. They probably were having trouble figuring out how to allow Right Stick for aiming spells and also be used for camera is my guess. It's pretty simple though, just set Right stick as camera default and the only time it aims is when hold a button for a spell that requires precise aim. That is the way they should have done it and then have Right Stick button as the Center Camera button.

You also use right stick to aim your melee attacks, so that wouldn't work.

Having an option where pressing the Y button toggles between aim and camera control on the stick would be ideal IMO. It's clunky, but a lot less clunky than having to hold Y and use the triggers to move the camera.

There's not really any point in using the right stick to aim melee attacks though, you can aim them just as easily with the left stick.

There is a very good reason for this, without it, you would not be able to strafe or walk backwards while fighting.

Then you cant run away from an enemy while attaking him.
The only possible solution is what have seen in mutiple games until today, the camera and the character always look at the same direction.

Yeah I haven't been doing that, instead I either dash away or counter like a souls-like or other games that don't have aimed melee attacks. I've been doing just fine so far without strafe attacking.
