The game settings have been greatly reduced!
I am very disappointed with the fine-tuning of the game! Why was it cut!?

Which settings the world options? you should a advanced button to unlock the rest of the settings.
Myth I'Kuhl May 8, 2024 @ 6:33am
Also...make sure you notice that there are many separate tabs in the advanced settings menu now, instead of one long list of options. Took me a minute to notice.
Mightylink May 8, 2024 @ 6:34am
I wrote a really positive review because of all these settings, I don't want to have to go back and change it...
Deathbit May 8, 2024 @ 6:36am
HP and Damage of units was changed to just be based on the difficulty you choose. If you want all the options again you have to do it through a dedicated server setup. The options are all there still if you do it that way.

why do I need a dedicated server if I'm playing solo!
Grundig May 8, 2024 @ 7:34am
Yeah not thrilled with the changes - and blood drain appears to be WAY too fast on the player in solo mode - I spend all my time hunting for blood now
Xiuhdracul May 8, 2024 @ 7:40am
Blood drain is missing, sun damage is missing, and whether or not you have all blueprints for certain ranks are missing.
Before you could select I want all the blueprints in tier 1, 2, 3 etc. Not an option now.

Health and damage of enemy units now missing, the effects of Silver and other debuffing items of the like are also missing now.

Even under advanced in private server settings these options do not exist now, but did before.
There might be more but those are the ones I noticed right off the bat.

Edit: Going to download the dedicated server tool and check if there's settings for these things now.

Man this sucks, I work 8-6 and I don't want my castle to drain in my single player save file when I get back...

So here's the customization fields of the prior version.

{ "GameModeType": 0, "CastleDamageMode": 0, "CastleHeartDamageMode": 0, "DeathContainerPermission": 1, "RelicSpawnType": 1, "CanLootEnemyContainers": false, "TeleportBoundItems": false, "InventoryStacksModifier": 5.0, "DropTableModifier_General": 5.0, "DropTableModifier_Missions": 5.0, "MaterialYieldModifier_Global": 5.0, "BloodEssenceYieldModifier": 5.0, "CastleMinimumDistanceInFloors": 1, "BloodDrainModifier": 0.01, "DurabilityDrainModifier": 0.0, "GarlicAreaStrengthModifier": 0.0, "SilverStrengthModifier": 0.0, "SunDamageModifier": 0.0, "CastleDecayRateModifier": 0.0, "CastleBloodEssenceDrainModifier": 0.1, "AnnounceSiegeWeaponSpawn": false, "BuildCostModifier": 0.0, "RecipeCostModifier": 0.0, "CraftRateModifier": 10.0, "RefinementCostModifier": 0.0, "RefinementRateModifier": 10.0, "ServantConvertRateModifier": 20.0, "Death_DurabilityFactorLoss": 0.0, "Death_DurabilityLossFactorAsResources": 0.0, "VBloodUnitSettings": [], "UnlockedAchievements": [], "UnlockedResearchs": [ -495424062, -1292809886, -1262194203 ], "GameTimeModifiers": {}, "VampireStatModifiers": { "MaxHealthModifier": 5.0, "PhysicalPowerModifier": 5.0, "SpellPowerModifier": 5.0, "ResourcePowerModifier": 5.0, "DamageReceivedModifier": 0.5 }, "UnitStatModifiers_Global": {}, "UnitStatModifiers_VBlood": {}, "EquipmentStatModifiers_Global": { "MaxHealthModifier": 5.0, "ResourceYieldModifier": 5.0, "PhysicalPowerModifier": 5.0, "SpellPowerModifier": 5.0 }, "CastleStatModifiers_Global": { "SafetyBoxLimit": 20, "TombLimit": 20, "VerminNestLimit": 20, "PrisonCellLimit": 50, "HeartLimits": { "Level1": { "FloorLimit": 61, "HeightLimit": 6 }, "Level2": { "FloorLimit": 148, "HeightLimit": 6 }, "Level3": { "FloorLimit": 297, "ServantLimit": 10, "HeightLimit": 6 }, "Level4": { "FloorLimit": 438, "ServantLimit": 15, "HeightLimit": 6 }, "Level5": { "FloorLimit": 600, "ServantLimit": 20, "HeightLimit": 6 } }, "CastleLimit": 5 }, "PlayerInteractionSettings": { "VSPlayerWeekdayTime": {}, "VSPlayerWeekendTime": {}, "VSCastleWeekdayTime": {}, "VSCastleWeekendTime": {} }, "TraderModifiers": { "StockModifier": 10.0, "PriceModifier": 0.1 } }

And here's the fields of the new version.

So all enemy unit settings are missing.
All Garlic settings are missing
All Blood settings are missing
All Silver Settings are missing
All Research settings are missing
All Vampiric Stats Settings are missing

The tags are still there with a open and close bracket but you cannot change those settings using the in game menu anymore, as the sliders and options are missing.

Going to test if adding the settings to the new config works, and might compile a list of things we can add to the config that work.
Adremelech May 8, 2024 @ 7:55am
Yea in Terms of Settings it's a Big Step backwards from EA.. and that is sad.
Xiuhdracul May 8, 2024 @ 8:08am

So adding
"SunDamageModifier": 0.0,
to the new config file does change the sun damage to 0, so adding old config stuff DOES work, meaning these settings are still configurable they just didn't include them in the UI.

I'm going to go through and test a bunch of stuff now and see what works and what doesn't.

Can confirm that copy/pasting old config files into the new ones changes it! There's also a 'preset difficulty' file you can change to turn off durability and blood drain!

The only issue with this is that they removed it from the UI, which makes it less end-user friendly.
Seems like a really odd choice; especially for new players who don't have an old config file to see what the options were even called.

Also, I'm not seeing this "preset difficulty" file. Just the general ServerGameSettings.json.
