Want to play solo
Hello,

I want to play alone, should I join an official PVE server or should I make my own locally?

If an official one, which one is best (Duo or I don't know)?

Thank you.

make your own server for solo play

Play alone with others around...or alone alone?

If so, make your own, public servers is pure cancer, always have been. Randoms in a game like this is asking for a bad time,99% of the time.

I'd just start a game on your local mashine and play solo there

I played on an official PvE server before and I had a great time. Maybe I was lucky. Most of the time I could just ask and a minute or two later I had at least one other player to help me with a boss. I like to play solo also but I like to have other people around. Same in MMORPG games lol

I actually want to play all by myself but if players are around to help with a boss or something it wouldn't be bad :D

Then I would at the very least try official PvE. But, I must warn you...sure I had a good time maybe 90% of the time but there is always going to be some idiots around. Make sure you fill up your castle with blood. Ppl will destroy the base and take the loot if they can ;P I don't know how it works now but when I did a boss with a bigger group and I died, sometimes one of them would be in a hurry and start sucking it's blood before I got back there and I had to do it all over again. But most of the time it was not a problem =D

I thought castles could only be broken in PVP?

No unfortunately not. If you leave the castle without blood for a while another player can go there and use the castle heart and choose to destroy it so the area will be available for others to claim. It's not the best but it's necessary to keep the server alive. Otherwise it would end up being an empty server =P Also the server have a reset timer. If you want to play without starting over now and then, you would be better off with a private game =)

I would join the fellas who say play on a local save.
Reason is that you will very fast find out that there are some very annoying game features which you will probably want to deactivate or finetune (like the one where you can't teleport between waystones if you have any loot in your inventory. And getting from one point of the map to the other takes freaking loooong) and you can't do it on official servers.
Some of those features make sense on PvP servers but not if you play PvE.

And also the castle decay timer. If you just want to PvE, i would advice you to lower the decay time so you don't have to bother with refilling it with blood constantly.

It seems i will play at a private server, this things sounds really annoying ...
But i can invite friends if needed to my privat server?

Yes sure. Even if you start a local hosted game you can still invite any of your friends.
Only restriction is obviously that they can only play in that game when you are also playing.

Just FYI, if you play the game, you will not have a problem filling your heart with blood, in fact you'll have an ABUNDANCE of blood you wont know what to do with. So DO NOT WORRY about this mechanic. Just remember to put blood in your heart from time to time and you'll be fine. At max level castle you can have blood going to last for 12-13 days.

I can't remember anymore how that mechanic works.

I know they changed some of the timed mechanics so that even if you play with a local save file, timed mechanics will track your system time. So if you want to convert for example an NPC to a vampire servant. even if you stop playing, the timer won't stop and it will show a progress when you start playing again. (compared to early times where on a local save, progress always stopped if you stopped playing).
Is that now the case with castle decay? Will it decay even if you are not playing? Just like on official server?

I'm only playing on live servers with other people mate, so I have no idea how it works on a "local save".
