Dropping loot/ removal

Is there a time limit before items disappear or are they left on the ground forever when i drop them? Also curious why there isn't a garbage type removal system to clear up inventory space. maybe a future plan?

There definitly is a time limit. So you can drop all that saw dust u don't need on the floor and next time u log in it will be gone. Not sure how much the time limit is tough.
