If you do try it. Do it on a fresh server as to not ruin your current game with miscreant lowlifes.
But yeah anyway I'm skeptical towards it... Seems annoying to have your castle raided while you're away. Even when just away to do a quest or boss.
I think I'd get it more if the raids were meant to achieve certain objectives, like "Attack X castle during this time and do X damage, find X chest/objective", whatever. Not raid a castle when you feel like it to steal their stuff when they're AFK.
Raiding is a mess, don't put the whole pvp behind it.
Check out Varena if you wanna get some practice or just enjoy the duels
If base raid isn't your thing. Just play in the no-raid pvp server.
Though I will be playing pve with my friends, if we ever play pvp, we would also play with no-raid settings.
We play on full pvp settings before. while it was fun, but ended kind tiresome. a lot of drama and butthurt people. the server kinda died after 2-3 big raids with the top 5 clans/groups
Also if you don't have a lot of play time, base raid also can be pretty annoying since you are dealing with people who has more time, they will have more resources, higher level, gears, and a lot more free time to attack your base
i dont like raids that much too but i do like pvp and duels, i already played battlerite and v rising on solo server in the early days of the game and i had fun with it and tbh, if you go out for some iron and other stuff cross someone and suddenly pvp starts. and if you killed him and maybe (if needet) you get his blood type and % and ontop of that possible needet stuff and iron too, it feels nice. and no this dont mean you must attack and kill everyone on sight, if its someone way lower then you or he comes from a way you can expect hes coming from his own base or a area you dont need something, let him go. but in my opinion if i wanna go for iron and he comes out of the ironmine or from road that leading to the mine its a high chance he was there and then pvp, maybe win and maybe get some iron. :D thats my way how to play games like these, because the adrenaline and the chance of pvp with high risk maybe high reward.
and @Lothroth about your sentence with the 100% minion, the game have a item if you enslave a enemy for a servant or the jail for blood, you can TP him to your base with this item. :) just have 1-2 from it in your bag, and if you find a good enemy, make him low life, enslave him and use the item to port him to your base and you good but always have a free jail for it. :D
wall of text, sorry.
Wdym "your community"? This isn't my game, nor "my community".
1) If you play on raid or PvP servers, naturally you will be playing with likeminded people. We won't run into one another since I'll be playing on a server that suits my preferences. If I play on a PvP server, I'll be ready to get ganked/raided/whatever. What I'm asking with my post is whether I'm wrong in thinking that it'd be annoying being ganked by someone playing 18 hours/day when I only have time to play 4, and whether there are servers that mitigate this issue/make it possible to play and enjoy PvP with other "casual" but "serious" players. The responses so far seem to indicate that duelling is fun, but raiding is mostly for people with more time on hand.
2) I didn't actually mean to say that "nolifers" are bad. I used to play WoW as a tryhard nolifer myself for years, and I still play more than I should ;). What I DID mean is I do not wish to play on PvP servers if there's no balancing around raiding for us "casuals" who want some competition but also don't want to deal with constant raids when I'm off to work or similar.
Anyway, don't take it so seriously. Go PvP to your heart's content.
And I didn't know about that item - it's been quite a while since I played so I probably missed it :)
