Does the game ever slow down?

I am already nearly gear level 50. I play the game with my wife, and by play i mean 1-3 hours a day depending how much the baby lets us. But... in a few days 50... it feels like the game will be over soon :D

Depends on your settings I suppose. There's a lot of stygian shard grinding in the back quarter of the game.

Games are supposed to end eventually. Have fun while it lasts and then move on to the next game. Stop worrying about when the game "will" end, and enjoy the process.

It does go pretty fast, and I swear some of it has sped up (research? is it just me?).. probably for the best, doing it the 3rd time around now.

As someone who was in the game since it was in early... really early access. (Basically since it is listed on Steam.)
I rushed trough the first part of the game in 5-6 hours, Solo on harder Settings. For me the game slowed down once i had to beat the lvl 83+ Bosses.
But then also, i don't mind it, since i love to build castles and farm an near "endless" amount of stuff (is it behavioural? Yes probably, is it sick? Not as long i just act like that in a game xD).

So try to enjoy the ride in the game, build a fitting castle for your vampires, get some servants.

Im still in act 2 but I have been going slow intentionally farming for papers/scroll and coin to get all the recipes and I have been redecorating my castle a lot. I'ts been quite relaxing actually=D

turn it up to brutal and your progress will slow down :p

I would but my wife will disown me then as even now our boss fights are i do 90-95% of the damage she does 5-10% of the damage and is dead. Even gave her a bow/crossbow so she can fire from afar but it is like i have a stormtrooper helping me.
