What are sgood progression stats for Brutal?
I haven't seen much discussion on this. What are the favored stats to aim for before you get into those comfy end-game outfits?

I've tried Leech + Attack speed and was kind of unimpressed.

Stats don't matter.

Brutal is about learning the fights so you don't get hit.

Well, if I don't have good offense, the fight will take so long that eventually I will get hit. So even if it's only a 10% increase in overall effectiveness, I'll take it.

Move speed.

Learning fights is the be all end all. Stats arent going to give you much - more importantly you'd want to max your gear level at all times, doesnt really matter much how. Thats going to matter more than stats, as it will increase your damage and decrease the damage the boss does to you.

Spot on because your character is slow as a snail MS is by far the best stat in the whole game bar non. While a lot of attacks can be moved out without any MS having MS will give you a much larger margin for error.

I like cooldown and spell vamp. I get a ♥♥♥♥ ton on self healing and use illusion magic with scholar blood, Was doing a fight last night where I kept getting free spell procs, threw like 5 spears and 4 wolfs all with healing bits on the gems in them.

Attack Speed is much better with Shock than with Leech. Shock deals magic damage whenever you deal physical damage, so attacking realy fast makes you deal a lot of both kinds of damage.

Also you can pick electric counter with jewel effect that gives spell lifesteal for each orb you have. Then it will also heal you

Bounceback augmented wolf is one of my favorite spells atm

I don't think I want to do too much melee on brutal, but I will have to give this a try at some point

You don't need to meele it works with crossbow/guns/bow

I haven't tried guns yet, but does static mesh well with how slow the bows fire? Even with attack speed buffed, I would think they're too slow. Though, I've never tried that, so maybe I'll be surprised

none of the weapon "passive" (static, leech, etc) matters early on. just use whichever u get. its not worth it to farm stygian shard just to buy rare ancestral shard of your weapon choice and preferred stats. Buy your primary weapon (if you're unlucky with drops), upgrade it at ancestral forge and move on

epic/legendary weapon (ilvl30) is a different case

stats wise, spell cd reduction is good with scholar blood. by taking 2 counter spells it helps you to learn/familiarize boss moveset, and u can return with preferred spells once u are ready to take them down. just take note that max spell cd is 40 and you can easily overcap it with scholar blood + armor.

otherwise, go movement speed to help evading boss attacks

if you want fast ranged attacks and extra mobility, pistol would be your choice, but it has less range than the other options. longbow is the most versatile attacker and gets big crits and piercing on charged shots, but it takes some practice to get used to its firing pattern. Crossbow is like the middle option but it's pretty boring in comparison.

scholar blood is the goat and i'm glad i have a 100% guy on tap

Because, of course, the best ranged option is spells lol

I wish I had a scholar, but I barely even see scholars, let alone a high quality one.
