Devs have updated PS5 version to have server settings!
Soooo, when I posted this, I was playing the early access version on PS5 as a preorder bonus. V Rising officially released on PS5 yesterday with multiple patches the last few days including server settings which can be easily changed upon opening the game.

A big THANK YOU to the developers who are really on top of making V Rising flawless!

The topic is now outdated & irrelevant.

=======================

I am playing PS5 solo offline, and it drives me crazy that I can't sleep in my coffin until night time. Instead, I have to bang my head against the wall waiting the 5+ minutes for the daylight cycle to end before I can do anything.

On the PS5, there are no game server adjustment settings, but public & private; so, I cannot alter the time it takes for daytime and night time to pass. While inside the coffin, a player has no way of knowing what time it is; another great quality of life feature.

I'm allergic to PCs. No, seriously.

You look within to find the answer to this problem. And by that I mean look within your castle for tasks or choose low danger tasks and get used to shade hopping. You may also try having a daylight ranged weapon, if you're not already using one.

While I understand the incovenience, it's really only an issue when you want to fight a Vblood in an open arena.
Any other task, including the roaming Vbloods, can be done even if it's daytime - with a bit of added difficulty, but not even that much.
It is made to be an inconvenience, but by no mean does it prevent you from doing anything. And I'm not saying this in a 'learn how to play' manner, at first I was feeling stuck and forced to hide during day, and when I realized it's merely an annoyance and not that punitive, I could actually make better use of my playtime.
Find ways around (forest, houses, potions) and you'll feel less cornered !

I would say the only roamer to not engage in the day is Simon Belmont. You'll want to wait for night time or lure him to an area of permanent shade like a waygate or the Colosseum in Dunley.

I'd really rather not engage in something off-topic it is a waste of time for both you and me. My bad for even jokingly replying to the Play on a PC comment.

I agree with everything you've posted. I am only to the point of having a sawmill, furnace, and workbench.

So, yeah, I can craft in the shadows or bone braiser, and I can traverse across map running from cover to cover; but, it just seems like a major oversight not to be able to fast forward time sleeping until dark.

I mean that's traditionally how vampires operate unless you are a sparkly emo Cullen vampire unaffected by the sun's rays. Hopefully, I'll unlock castle roofs soon, lol.

Let me tell you a secret: the PS5 is just a PC with a Sony-specific operating system. Most consoles are built on the exact same architecture as PCs nowadays.

Whoa, thanks for the enlightment! I thought my PS5 was a toaster. No wonder the bread wasn't fitting when I tried jamming it in the horizontal slot. Silly me!

PS5's are for Pancakes not Toast!

I can see this working for a complete solo / single player game like Skyrim, where you can also pause. Or a game like Valheim that requires everyone on the server to sleep at the same time. And heard on PC you can set the server settings to entirely skip the daytime completely. But I know you're on PS5, so that wouldn't work.

It may seem annoying right now, since you don't have a roof yet.

But as said above, daytimes are a good time to :
- Upgrade weapons
- Upgrade jewels
- Upgrade armor
- Restock on brews and potions
- Manage servants
- Get the gears rolling on crafting while you're away at night.
- Decorating the castle indoors
- Travel to locations on the map where you aren't affected by the sun

Although they allow full control of server settings on the PC, I only selected the difficulty preset they provided. Skipping daytime or changing any preset settings would feel like cheating and take away from the realism of the game. There are times when I have to go AFK and come back and die from the sun, but that's to be expected. Maybe one day they'll add full server settings control on consoles.

You can rent a server. Edit settings to what you like and play on it.
