Empty servers.
Why are all servers mostly empty?
I've been server hopping and barely anyone seems to be online.
Has this game failed to provide end game to keep players on a server?

most people already did their "one and done" playthrought after the release literally one month ago, the hype probably went down

active players were within the 70-75k,

edit : it is now currently 22k.

so there's your answer

Yes but why don't players stick around longer?
Also the 22k seems weird if you look in game at players count on online servers.
I can hardly count 1000 players on all servers so where are the other 21k???
And those 1000 players are only players with a character on a server so maybe 500 active online???
21 k players are playing solo private???
Looks like the multiplayer part is a big failure.

nothing was done for player retention. But there's always popping servers.

No one wants to take the chance on getting screwed over by randoms online also the combat is something I can not even fanthom how PvP would be bearable with this slow and clunky combat,

What exactly do you mean by 'getting screwed over'?
I think this game has way to many poorly thought out and questionable design choices to be enjoyable in multiplayer.

Most people play on private servers.

My friends and I played through normal.. then started over on brutal.. after this run we will stop playing as well. We only play PVE.. there is no reason to keep playing once you beat Dracula.

PVP is where the longevity is but even that I'm sure grow tiresome after awhile. The game has a solid 50-75 hours of content but once it's over it's over..

Multiplayer is not a big fail.. PVE co-op is amazing. I have 650 hours and all of that has been with different groups of friends on PVE. I'm sure PVP has its positives as well. They just have no retention for LONG term playing.

Ah co-op for friends only.
One of the main reasons why multiplayer is a big failure.
You do realize the vast majority of people don't have those online 'friends' who all go play the same game simultaneous? lol

This is true but I've made lots of friends off discord servers etc..

but I am lucky.. I met most of my gamer friends playing WoW back in 2005.. and we are still friends today.

We no longer play WoW but we have played many other games since then. You can probably find people to play with through various forums.
The majority of players leave after they've completed endgame, some leave even before endgame because they feel discouraged or are just bored as SLS did not provide much substance to endgame.

V Rising follows a seasonal trend as it did in EA, there is a massive spike around the Halloween sale, then a massive drop-off for the rest of the year leaving a lot of empty servers, closing servers because the owners lack ambition/were short-sighted or are ghosts then we have the latter - Modded servers that continue to provide incentive for their players via admin crafted events & encounters.

I've nearly beaten Adam on solo PvE Brutal and decided to join a PvP servers to have a bit more fun with other people, but I also cannot find any servers with people to play :/
Tanyon Jul 12, 2024 @ 7:45am
the jig is up.. this game unfortunately does not have a lot of longevity. I guess even the PVPers got bored. Great game one of the best out there but yea.. once you played it you played it.. nothing really holding you to it.

Those of us who know how to craft fun out of nothing but the base assets we're given plus some modifications basically have a reason to stick otherwise everyone else would be correct to assume the conclusion of "longevity".

Adding some sort of pve raiding mechanic to the game would do wonders. I don't know why more survival games don't do this more. It's silly. I know ALOT of people would enjoy it. If it's not your cup of tea then fine make it a SERVER SETTING. (mind blown I know).

Furthermore pvp I guess to some is great and fun but not for me and that's something SLS wants to see more of. I hate pvp in all games including here so I will never try it. I'll echo what others have said. Once you beat Dracula there's very little reason to continue unless you like to build, but then after a while that gets old because what are you building for really?

There is no incentive to stick around after you beat dracula. Nothing else to unlock, nothing else to accomplish besides getting shards which most people dont care about.
DrXanadu Jul 12, 2024 @ 6:27pm
A procedurally generated instanced dungeon or two would do wonders for this game's longevity. They even have the basis for it right there at Dracula's Castle. Just turn the current portal into an entrance to a randomized dungeon, with Dracula at the bottom (opening a new portal straight to Drac once you complete it once). Put in new rewards (a new tier of books with decor, perhaps new potions), plenty of Stygian Shards, maybe the dummied out Primal Stygian Shards, which you could then use to reroll your weapon shard/jewel attributes. Add higher level versions of current Arena-style bosses that don't work for the first two tiers of Rift Incursions (Finn, Maja, the Baron, Blackbrew).
