Are Soulshards worth it?

I am close to "finishing" the game for the first time and just got my first soul shard, but I don't feel that is more powerful than my normal amulet. Am I missing something? I play solo pve

if you play solo PvE then no they are not. before 1.0 they were much more useful but overpowered in PvP so stunlock changed how they work. before they were shards that were a pillar for you to place in your castle and when you interacted with them they gave 2-3 hours buffs for atk,matk,attackspeed,movementspeed and resistances now they are dumped down to amulets that give literally nothing except for a changed ultimate thats even worse most of the time than what you could learn yourself over skills and a PvP related buff to damage to other vampires i.e players.

Dracula's one pve wise can be really strong. Adam's one even is...nice for bosses but at that point...you want it for Dracula...then Dracula's shard makes everything easier but at that point -personally- I was so over the game pve wise that I was already handling whatever fine in comparison to Adam/Dracula. The no bat form is complete mood killer...and even if you could bat...bleh.

So it's really more of PVP thing tbh. The chaos shard ult is a massive blink situation that's good for pvp. Solarus's shard...I dunno if it's good at all tbh.

My question is...where are the frost/phantasmal shards...is that going to be an expansion or something lol.
