is PVP servers worth it

Hello bloodsucking fiends
I want to ask is it worth playing on officials PVP server?
Stunlocks are capable of making good action combat so I thought PVP should be fun and PVE progression is more meaningful. But I can’t say that I’m a big fan of the survival genre, especially pvp in it. Where the open world is dominated by overgeared dudes and clans and they can destroy all your progress while you sleep via raids.

In all seriousness, why even ask the question?

That is exactly what you can expect unless you find a fresh and more importantly, private PvP server where people agree to abide by certain rules to keep it fun for everyone.

Otherwise there is every chance that your experience is what you can expect (though I'd hardly call this game a Survival tbh), and nothing at all in game to deter it.

I mean there is variety. Sometimes raids are time limited so you could log in to defend your home, sometimes not all of your loot can be looted, could be full drop or limiited drop and so on.
Anyway I think I need to be more specific, so how's PVP?
Is it alive? Is it possible to have some fun with a small group of beginners?
Or servers are dominated by clans and pro-meta-gamers, and our asses will be torn without the opportunity to do something against it?

If you just want to duel there are servers with "Arena" or "Dojo" in their names.

But if you want to play it normally, It is only worth it if you can devote MAJOR time.

PvP is very hardcore (no pun intended) in this game, it's basically a rush to who gets the shards first and this means you need to be ready to play 14 hours straight from the start.

On top of that you need to be good at PvP as well, which again, requires A LOT of practice.

I dont agree that all its about is rushing for the shards is all there is. You dont really have to care about those at all if you dont want to. And a person leveling, will probably only meet overgeared people doing rifts or maaaybe in brighthaven from time to time. It all depends on the server and the people on it.

There are a few people out there who only play to grief the ♥♥♥♥ out of others, but the majority arent really interested in that I believe.
